Zaitoon Indian Restaurant Khobar Branch — Restaurant in Eastern Province

What's the measure of good food? It's when your stomach is full and you just can't eat anymore but your heart wants to have more of the tasty meal. Eating at Zaitoon is one such experience. You are full, but still you want more. Location - Check. Pretty upmarket. Ambience- Check. It has feel good vibes. Parking - Double check. Ample and safe.

These three are huge differentiating factors from the this Zaitoon at Al Khobar to it's sister concern in Riyadh. The latter, located in the capital, is cramped up with not so good interior ambience, location is in Wizarath-Hara, known to be a congested locality and parking, well, what's that in Hara?

So, on a weekend, with family in tow, we visited this restaurant. It was easy to find this place. Having safely parked out drive, we tucked into the warm family section to start a gluttony Marathon. And what a blissful experience it turned out to be!

Starters and soups were excellent especially dynamite shrimps, crispy corn and chicken lollipops. Soups we tried were sea food and manchow, both being yummy.

Main course- butter chicken, chicken Tikka and Hyderabad mutton dum biryani are must must haves. Mutton Rogan Josh deserves a special mention and is ultimately tasty. Topped it off with qubani ka meetha with ice cream, Baskin Robbins scoops for kids, and washed it down with Saudi champagne for adults.

We were so engrossed in eating, so pics took a backseat and we conveniently forgot to take any.

I recently visited this restaurant and had the chance to try their mutton biriyani. While the overall experience was pleasant, there were a few aspects that left room for improvement.

First and foremost, I must commend the restaurant's hospitality and ambiance. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and made sure I felt welcomed throughout my visit. The ambiance was pleasing and contributed to a relaxed atmosphere, enhancing the dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the mutton biriyani itself. The marination of the mutton was spot-on, and the flavors were well-balanced. However, I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed with the quality of the mutton pieces used in the dish.

Despite this setback, the other components of the biriyani, such as the rice and spices, were satisfactory and complemented each other nicely. The portion size was also reasonable, providing a filling meal.

In conclusion, while the hospitality and ambiance in this restaurant were commendable, I believe there is room for improvement when it comes to the quality of the mutton used in the biriyani. If the restaurant can address this issue and ensure that the mutton is more tender and flavorful, it would greatly enhance the overall dining experience.
