Regret Note – For Everyone’s Awareness
To be honest, I feel the need to share this unfortunate experience as a caution to others.
We stayed 7 nights at Hotel Jawar Hijra, located in Makkah near Masjid Ghamama. We arrived just after Eid,Ul fitar 2025 and our hotel was booked through a travel agent we trusted him 😥
From the very first night, the problems began. The hotel room was filled with a strong, toxic spray smell—apparently, the hotel staff had sprayed insecticide to deal with cockroaches and bugs. The smell was so bad that we spent the whole night coughing, with runny noses and throat pain. It felt like we were breathing poison.
If you’re from Central Europe or any country with basic hotel standards, you cannot imagine this kind of situation. The room felt like it hadn't been cleaned washed properly several weeks or months —musty odor, unwashed bedding, and 🐞 everywhere.on beds Staff was rude not flexible we hope in future We beared every thing because we are in umrah Haji But we have to raise our voice,,
The bathroom had no hot water, which was extremely difficult for children and elderly women, especially during the cold hours. The split AC had no remote control, so it kept blowing freezing air at 16°C or lower, and there was no way to adjust it. We had to turn off the AC completely to avoid getting sick. When we asked the hotel staff for a remote, they simply said: “We don’t have one.”
Basic needs were completely ignored. We paid 160 SAR per night, according to our agent, and yet received no comfort or proper service.
We stayed for 7 nights and then finally left. This is a kind note to everyone: When booking a hotel through an agent, don’t just rely on their promises. See the place with your own eyes and judge for yourself. Some people may never change their way of doing business, but we can protect ourselves by being aware and cautious.
Stay safe, and may your travels be...
