To be honest, the food wasn’t too bad and the ambience was alright. However, staff need to be trained to communicate properly among themselves and their roles should be clearly outlined.

The first staff who took our order repeated our order and he had gotten it right. When the food arrived, one item wasn’t delivered. We informed one staff regarding the missing item and to handle such a simple task, 2 other staff came. One was a very rude employee who has very shocking customer service. This isn’t the first Mado restaurant I’ve been too and it is totally appalling that such an employee is working for a restaurant like Mado. Mado isn’t some street side food stall in the Philippines.

The 3 staff miscommunicated among themselves and as a result caused much confusion. This resulted in the final bill having an error. When we alerted them to the error in the bill, the staff insisted that they are right even though they were clearly in the wrong. They finally accepted their error and said they will provide a new bill. That again took another 15 minutes.

This is totally unacceptable service from Mado and their unprofessional staff, to be specific that one Filipino male staff. This Mado is located right opposite the Holy Mosque in Makkah and if he isn’t happy to be working here, then no one is...

Think twice before spending your money here. I’ve been to many Mado restaurants in Dubai and Istanbul, and this is the worst. Firstly, my ice cream was served with a piece of plastic inside. Secondly, our ice cream were served in different ways even though we ordered the same ice cream cones. When I asked them why they served it differently, all they said was “same same” and forced us to accept it and refused to change it. See my picture (one ice cream was served properly in a cone, and the other was served in a plate with the cone on top of it making it difficult to eat.) Thirdly, they charged us for additional items which we did not order. When we flagged this error out to the waiters, they were hesitant to revise the bill and seemed like they did not believe us despite us showing them evidence that we did not receive the items that they had billed us. Fourthly, they made us wait at least 15 minutes just to get the bill revised. And they gave an excuse saying “it’s difficult to change the bill in the system”. Fifthly, very rude staff who can only give excuses without actually caring for their customers. Avoid coming here and spend your money elsewhere. You should send your waiters for some...

Mehmet Sait Kanbur, the owner of Mado ice cream cafes, in order to curry favor with China, which persecutes Uyghur Turks, said, "A person has two homelands. One is where he was born and one is where he is fed. If I am fed in China today, I am Chinese." Mehmet Sait Kanbur, the owner of Mado ice cream, is a complete lover of the communist Chinese state and a pathetic person who closes the doors of his cafes to Muslim Uyghur Turks and goes and sucks up to China for the benefit of the world for three pennies. In addition, his cafe in Mecca is only for rich snobs and upstart Muslims and arrogant people. The prices are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and you may find yourself there more as an outcast under the arrogant gaze than as an average Muslim guest. I would definitely not recommend it. Go and earn Allah's favor by eating ordinary food with other regular Muslims. This place stinks of arrogance. Their only concern is to rip off Muslims. Not to...

Having spent the weekend in Turkey and being completely ripped off by anyone and everyone in Istanbul, from the taxi drivers to the local businesses, I came for Umrah and just curiously walked in here to see what ridiculous prices they charge. As you can see, 69SAR for a slice of cheesecake! Not sure what makes these businesses think they can charge extortionate prices for their food. Yes the Turkish Lira is suffering and the economy has gone down and inflation has been high recently but coming down, but yet I don't see other businesses charging such ludicrous prices and ripping people off. Save your money and for a similar price buy nearly 3 large tastier milk cakes from B Labaan or a whole cheesecake that's more fresh and tastier than this, and cheaper from the local supermarket or bakeries or other local businesses and cafes! Nothing special about this San Sebastian cheesecake or this place for them to be charging such prices.

While in Makkah, we visited Mado Restaurant, and it was a refreshing change of pace. Located conveniently and known for its elegant interior, Mado offers a calm, upscale atmosphere — perfect for relaxing after a long day. The menu features a wide variety of Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, from flavorful kebabs and creamy hummus to rich pastas and refreshing salads. Their desserts and ice creams are a must-try — especially the traditional Turkish kunafa and baklava. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of authentic flavor. Though it’s a bit on the pricier side compared to local eateries, the experience, quality, and ambiance make it well worth it. Ideal for families, groups, or anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing meal with a touch of Turkish hospitality.
