I stayed in this hotel for one night while travelling in Senegal with a friend. There were not many guests in the hotel the night I was there - I suppose the majority of tourists are from France and come on package holidays to the smarter hotels on the sea front. This hotel is in a less smart area of Saly, not far from the fisherman's port.||However, the hotel was reasonably priced (32,000 francs), clean and comfortable. The room had two beds, a double and a single and bathroom. A problem with the toilet was solved quickly and efficiently by the maintenance man.The staff were friendly and helpful. We opted to include breakfast in the price. It was served in the small restaurant near reception. There was a croissant, pain au chocolat and a piece of bread, orange juice and a choice of hot drinks. Unfortunately, the pain au chocolat and croissant had been heated in a microwave oven - not the best idea for pastry.||The rooms are on 3 floors around an open atrium with a swimming pool. There is a roof terrace - pleasant for sitting out in the afternoon.||For a short stay, this hotel is basic, but pleasant and good value. Cafés and restaurants are within a few...
Read moreOK for one night only. The roosters start at 4:00 AM and the prayers in the nearby mosque start at 5:00 AM. The toilet was broken in the first room I was given so I had to change rooms. The sink was blocked in the second room I was given. No phones in the rooms, an old run down hotel, breakfast was bad, no elevator in the hotel or help with the luggage. No fridge or safe box in the room, big room, great location, 3 beds in my room, friendly staff, bed was comfortable. The A/C did not cool the entire room, reasonable rates, very noisy neighbors outside the hotel. Only French TV channels. A small pool at the hotel but it did not look very inviting. Weak WI-FI...
Read moreLa Hacienda is located in the center of the downtown area of Saly which results in easy access to banks and restaurants. The downside of the central location is the sounds from the outside world that filter in, particularly at night. On the other hand, those sounds would be there unless you stay far from the center. This usually happens only late at night and is not terrible if you wear earplugs. I enjoyed my stay there: the wifi was very reliable, the beds were firm, the room was spacious and kept clean by a good staff, there is a pool if you wish to swim, and everyone was friendly. For the money, this was a good stay. I...
