My stay at the Quay hotel was a lovely one with clean and comfortable rooms, it's true without saying that from the entrance it may not look like much with a bus stop directly in front of the building..if you walk too fast you may miss it. But that's where my surprise ended, as when I entered the hotel check-in desk it was the typical small area of a downtown budget hotel. I was greeted by Zara at the front desk who was very accommodating in allowing me an early check-in after 2 days of flying, all staff I interact with was helpful and kind. My room was nice, clean and comfortable with some added amenities like slippers, shampoo and shower gel, dental & shaving kit along with a safe, fridge with a complimentary beverage and coffee/tea station...there's even a little work desk in the corner with outlets, earplugs are provided but was not needed as it was really quiet in my room. There's not a single thing I would ask for differently, value for money with everything I needed within walking distance...but I like walking so it was great for me. Chinatown and La Pau Sat/Satay street are close by so are lots of bars & restaurants...the main attractions in Singapore like Merlion Park and Gardens by the bay was a little further but not by much. Singaporeans in general was helpful in any questions I asked on the street as many do speak good English, lots of money changers in the area along with small mini markets including 7/11. If I had one complaint about the hotel it would be the transfer pickup from the airport...which is ridiculously priced at $75 SGD..take a 25 minutes taxi cab ride (metered) instead for $25 SGD. In all a wonderful stay and would definitely stay here again if ever I'm in Singapore.

Don't go there! We had to cancel the booking as the air-conditioning was not working and they refused to refund claiming that it would start to work when it would "sense us moving in the room" (no joke! Are we supposed to wave while sleeping?) yet, after 30 minutes still practically no air flow (room 402, with window). We were offered the room above (502) but same problem there. The welcome was far from warm and the credit card was debited before we found out about the air-co. There seems to be a general issue with maintenance in the building: we arrived in the morning, we asked to have the curtain fixed and nothing had been done when we came back in the late afternoon. This was a minor issue (see picture) but the personal didn't seem motivated to have it fixed and we heard another guest complaining about maintenance as well. They are just liars....on the verge to a scam. Anyway, this hotel is not good value for money. Room and bathroom are tiny (tinier than what the pictures suggest), no wardrobe, not much space at all. We changed to the Swisshotel for a premium room with acces to the lounge for 50pc more expensive..... but was 4 times better.

Very disappointed with your hotel. Room is Noisy the whole day , can clearly hear the noises from outside. Even the hotel duct taped the windows won’t help. Very surprised to receive a welcome gift , a set of earplugs, but sadly it won’t help. I can’t even record my YouTube video with all the noises. The best part is your front desk was so rude, not doing anything with my complaint but told me I should have do research before booking the hotel. Management should include this very welcoming noises in your hotel description, telling customers your hotel is in a busy noisy street with heavy traffic , then we the customers can understand the situation and make our own decisions to play along or not. Truly this is my very first impression with Singapore, very bad and rude hospitality .

The location of this hotel is perfect. Unfortunately, that is the only good thing about this place!

Usually a hotel room may have a couple of things wrong with it. But the rooms at this hotel are full of problems due to ongoing lack of mainenance.

We stayed in two adjacent rooms on the 3rd floor for just over two weeks.

The rooms are extremely dated and really depressive! Cracked door frames, stained carpets and mouldy washrooms were some of the highlights of the rooms. Everything in the rooms appeared to be worn out. Beds were firm and uncomfortable. Even the padding on the chairs had disappeared.

The internet service was a real joke. We kept on getting maximum concurrent connections error even when no one was connected to the internet! We had to use our phone data to access the net.

Another joke was the TV. Out of the 12 or so channels listed, only 2-3 worked. The rest came up with a poor signal error. TV service didn't work at all in one of the rooms.

The safe didn't lock in one of the rooms. Reception was notified of the above but no action was taken.

The bar fridge didn't work in one of the rooms.

Some positive things about this hotel:

Location of this hotel is just perfect. It's close to everything. It's at a short walk to the MRT, restaurants and to some of the central attractions in Singapore.

Air conditioner worked in our rooms and that was a blessing.

The Indonesian cleaner lady on our floor was very nice. She tried her best to clean the rooms but obviously couldn't fix the stained carpets or address any of the other issues with the rooms.

We did notify the reception of the state of the rooms. They couldn't help us as apparently there were no other rooms available.

Overall, we found the rooms at this hotel to be well below average and disappointing. We survived by spending most of our time outside and only returning to the...

I recently stayed at your hotel and wanted to share my experience. I would like to start by commending your staff for being very nice and helpful throughout my stay. Additionally, I found the hotel's location to be excellent, especially for the price.

However, I was disappointed with the room that I booked, which had windows. The windows were badly installed, and a lot of noise passed through them, including car and bus engines from the parking area in front of the hotel. The noise from the nearby pub was also loud and disturbing. While the staff did their best to mitigate the noise issue with duct tape and providing earplugs, it was clear that the root cause was not being addressed by the hotel's management.

In response to my complaint, the staff promptly changed my room to a windowless one, which was almost good. However, the air-conditioning in the room was broken, and it could not be controlled using the thermostat in the room. Upon investigation, I discovered that the issue was caused by the hotel use large air-con for the whole floor, which was set to a very low temperature of somewhere between 15-18C. This may be suitable for some guests, but it was not comfortable for me as someone from a hot climate country.

I strongly urge the hotel's management to fix these issues, especially the poorly installed windows and the air-conditioning system, which need to be updated to provide individual control for each room. By addressing these problems, the hotel could provide a much better experience for its guests.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that my feedback can be useful to the hotel and its...
