The short version is, unless you are totally restricted by price, there are probably better options nearby.||If you are still interested - read on.||The hotel is proper, old-school ex-soviet style. Rooms are basic, clean, but absolutely no frills. They do have ensuite bathrooms, but toilet is separate from the bath/sink. TV is a tiny 14" CRT box. And that's about all you get. A handful of smallish towels and a bar of soap.||Food is adequate. A good appetite after a days skiing helps :) There was nothing I couldn't eat, but neither was there anything I'd go up for seconds for. Staff are friendly and amenable (so some things have changed from Soviet times :) ). Good wifi in communal areas, none in the rooms. ||Quirky negatives are threadbare carpets with bleach stains scattered about, and clunky old lifts that look like they have been painted in Hammerite 'One Coat'.||Positives are; it is just about a ski-in ski-out hotel. You will need good snow cover, and it involves a bit of pushing/walking, but it is possible. The bar is cheap - 2 beers and 2 soft drinks come in at 4 Euros 80. And there is a very good, proper soviet era wellness centre. ||To sum up, if you have a hankering to experience the "Deutschland 83" thing, and dont mind no frills, go for it. Otherwise there are probably better nearby (but many of these are also with one foot in the past - think hotels Ski,...
Read morePhotos of breakfast & dinner. The hotel is old, no luxury, no refurbished areas except the bathroom at the restaurant. So if you have high expectations, go somewhere else. The pros: Access to the ski resort without car: 8-10 min walk to get to the nearest point of the slope 10B. Going home: using the A3 lift and exit to the left the 10B slope before the first apartments, you can get to the hotel door on your skis. Breakfast and dinner are good, enough selection, nothing luxurious, but good food, fresh veggies, good coffe. There is a little ski rental room in the hotel, full equipment for 15€/day. Pretty reasonable. The stuff was very helpful, especially the manager lady in blue clothes. She was the only english speaker there, helped us a lot, but the rest of the stuff was nice, too.
All in all, it was good, but the price was to high for the experience. I’m going back this weekend to Jasna, renting an apartment 10-15 minutes from the first lift. The price is 1/3rd, breakfast also included, the apartment seems much better on pictures that the hotel was. There are ski busses every 15 min in the entire area, you can get to the slopes by bus almost as quickly as walking 10 minutes from the hotel, so I think it did not...
