Liptov Lodge — Hotel in Liptovský Mikuláš

My girlfriend and I recently stayed in Liptov Lodge for three nights and it was excellent. It is such a beautifully constructed building and the attention to detail is exceptional. Ida and Andy (Slovak/Irish couple) were fantastic hosts and it turns out Andy built pretty much all the Lodge himself, a wonderful creation including Jack Hackett's Honesty Bar (a nod to a character from my favourite TV comedy, Father Ted, and being Irish too, a nice reminder of home). And for skateboard enthusiasts, they have just added a half pipe outside!||||The room was very comfortable and peaceful. It has blackout curtains if you want to get a good night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable. ||||It is located in the foothills of the Low Tatras which gives the area a stunning backdrop and as a keen runner, it was a great place for a couple of morning runs while we were there. ||||There are lots of things to see and do in the area, Liberty Cave, Ice Cave, Tatralanida Water Park and Spa, a huge lake near by and the mountains (Low and High Tatras) close by. ||||I would definitely recommend staying here, it is charming and relaxing and a perfect getaway from city...

A family holiday, 4 adults and 3 children. 30 minutes from Poprad Tatry Airport. A short walk to the bus stop, to catch the ski bus that can take you into Jasna Ski Resort🎿❄️🚩🌨️

The hosts Andrew and Ida are so helpful and welcoming and are both great cooks, homemade soda bread and soups 😋 They have a great lodge, it's newly built but rustic in style.

From the UK flights are from Luton, London with Wizz Air and are very reasonable.

The small touches: local honey and butter, homemade jam, and pre ordered groceries ready for your arrival. Oh and the private honesty bar in the lounge, allows the adults to relax and enjoy the evening whilst the kids are tucked up in bed.

We came here not as skiers or snowboarders, but enjoyed a winter holiday and trying out activities, local sledging, a ski lesson, a day at the water park. There are so many things to do here. What a great place to explore, I would recommend this place to all, its has something for everyone. I have no doubt this place would be equally stunning in...

Liptov Lodge is the perfect place to stay to enjoy the beautiful Slovak mountains it is located in the valley between the Low and High Tatras which affords stunning views in the area.

The accommodation itself it unique! it is run by an Irish Slovak couple, Andy and Ida, and Andy designed and built the lodge himself, and did a magnificent job with it! it has a wonderful charm and Andy and Ida were excellent hosts throughout our stay.

The Lodge also has Jack Hackett's honesty bar, a reference to a character from the sitcom, Father Ted (my favourite show and a lovely taste of home) and it the perfect place to wash down a tasty beer after a day of exploring.

There are plenty of things to see and do all year round in the area for travellers of all ages and after a busy day, coming back to the comfortable room in the lodge and the fantastic shower was a treat.

I would thoroughly recommend staying here, you won't find anywhere better...
