MC Hostel Brežice — Hotel in Brežice

The hostel itself was very nice. If it weren't for the terrible administation system, I would sure recommend it. The rooms are spotless clean. The accomodation has a nice courtyard and a common room with a bar with a nice a nice atmosphere. Only the hookup of the shower could use some attention: the shower keeps falling off the wall. The administration procedure however is a terror. After booking by booking.com I got a link with a Croatian phone number from the hostel's intermediate office Direct BookersI had to call in order to ensure somebody would be there at the reception the moment I arrived. When callin Direct Bookers however, they seemed total unaware of the reservation number of Booking.com, and kept asking for my appartment number. After having tried to explain the woman on the phone for 5 times already I could not provide her with an appartment name simply because I had never got it, she started yelling at me and hung up the phone in the end, so I just rode to the hostel not knowing if there would be any room for me at all. The woman at the desk was very helpful and nice, and the room was great, but I won't book a room here again as long as Direct Bookers keeps being the intermediate agent between Booking.com and Mc...

The value for money is one of the best in Europe, in the hostel world. For the nature lovers - you're set at the top of the park hill, in the green town surrounded by wooded hills, from which it is separated by 2 rivers, Sava and Krka, which merge under one of the 2 bridges 10-15 min walk-distance. From the terrace on the top you can see the castle.
