Hotel Lonca — Hotel in Skofja Loka

Nice location just a few min walk to the old city area. Also within a few min walk is the bus station and a grocery store with basic needs. Skofja Loca Castle is about a 10 min walk. There is a public bathing area in a small river about a 15 min walk from the hotel. About 5 minutes walk to restaurants.

The room was modern and comfortable. Great air conditioning. USB charging stations all over the room so you don’t need a converter to charge your phone. Big tv. Nice to have other places to sit in the room besides the bed like the bench by the window or the desk chair. Luggage/wardrobe area has lots of room with shelving and hangers; as well as a safe and great place to store shoes. Nice pillows on the bed. Shower has good temperature adjustment with hot and cold water. The only thing I would say this room is missing is a mini fridge.

Breakfast in the morning was small, but nice. I’m not a big breakfast person that early so just getting something simple like coffee, fruit, and hard boiled eggs was nice. But there’s also an array of meats and cheeses and hot food items.

I highly recommend staying here. It could be a great base to explore other areas of Slovenia if you have a car. You only really need a day/half day in Skofja Loca to see it all, but it was nice to stay overnight to stroll the streets in the evening and have a relaxing stay...

TL:DR Best service I've experienced!!! Robert is a freaking star - and that goes for Matiaz as well.

My friend and I wanted to go bikeriding in the mountains and booked two nights at Hotel Lonca. Because we book from day to day on our trip, we didn't have much luck renting bikes at shops, but then we met Robert at the reception, and he was a freaking superstar! He helped us book bikes with the right measurements, with helmets and a repairkit. The bikes were ready for us in the morning the next day and he even helped us planning a route. He also gave great recommendations for restaurants and was a pleasure to talk to. His colleague Matiaz helped us getting set up with the bikes when we had some minor trouble and was great as well. It was exceptional service allround!
