MS Sparrow Hostel — Hotel in Upravna Enota Ljubljana

This has to have been one of the cleanest hostels I have been in. I was in two rooms during my stay and both were equally perfect. Clean beds and 2 medium sized lockers. They can each fit a carry on luggage sized piece. AC in the room and really clean bathrooms. The women’s bathroom had two toilets and multiple showers. It was cleaned daily and was spotless. They also provided a towel and they had a collection of some items you were allowed to use, incase you forgot any (such as tampons, body wash and hair spray). ||||The staff/management were wonderful, friendly and helpful. A few spoke better English than others, but all were very warm and accommodating. Anything you needed, they were there to make your stay a nice one. ||||The kitchen was available to all guests to cook in. It was small, but had everything you needed. ||||My only complaint was that they host 5-6 older foreign men staying in 1-2 of their rooms, who are always hanging around the kitchen and downstairs area. I heard they basically live there, while they work locally. I did feel uncomfortable because they must have been in their 40s or 50s. As a younger female, it is a little unsettling. ||||*Heads up, it is pretty far from the city center walking, however, if you are comfortable taking the bus, the bus stop is directly out front and is only a 6-8 minute bus ride. Very easy. Also, there is a supermarket and cute produce shop, along with multiple bars and restaurants...

The host at this hostel is exceptionally kind. I was looking for a place to stay where I could get plenty of rest as I was feeling unwell ( exhausted from long term travel ). I knew this hostel would be the one and it was. I got the best sleep in months here that I ended up extending three times. The rooms are exceptionally clean and modern . The hostel is quiet but that is what I was looking for . It is a 25 minute walk to the city centre but I did not mind as I like walking. There is a bus that takes you into the centre outside the hostel . The area around the hostel is great . There are lots of restaurants , cafes and a supermarket. Nice place to just chill. A fantastic stay here . Once again a big thank you to the host....

This is a perfect hostel for people who just need a nice clean tidy place to sleep and aren't fussed about walking/bussing/cycling into the centre, as it is a 30min walk from the train/bus station, and 45min into the main centre.

As a solo traveller, this is NOT the place to go - communal area is a small kitchen space and the bar next door is very quiet so opportunities to meet people are few. In peak season it offered a good price and the staff very helpful and friendly!

Rooms had individual lockers and aircon so definitely a nice sleep spot. There is also a laundromat (€6 euro wash + dry) 10min walk away. I used a bike for a day and that was a good option to try see everything, which I hired...
