This is a beautiful little gem in Portoroz. Spotless, good location between Portoroz and Piran, super frriendly owners. A bit up a hill, so not ideal if you want to go to the beach and back often during the day, but great views and quiet. We liked being between both and used the free bicycles to have dinner in one of both several times. The beach downhill is ok, but not the most fancy, and the shops and restaurants are middle of the road there, Portoroz had a nicer more lively and a bit more luxurious feel to it (with the more upscale hotels and a sand beach). Coastline at Piran was more natural and had a laid-back feel to it (with a diving school) and quiet little places to throw your towel. We are not really beachlovers and enjoyed the countryside and cycling more. There is plenty to do and see around portoroz. ||||Back to the hotel: Views from the terrace are very nice. Service is great and from a value perspective it is hard to find anything better than this. We stayed for a week with two adults and 1 six year old.||||Room for improvement? At this price? Very hard. I would be happy to pay a bit more for for higher quality bedding and linen and a more quiet airconditioning. The beds were too hard for us and the airconditioning is not the most silent. The rooms are not large (fine from a value perspective), but spotless, the terrace of our room was perfect with a nice view on the bay (not 100% view, but really nice with a quiet garden, and then the bay.||||I would recommend this place to my friends and would be happy to stay here again...
Read moreWe spent our Easter holidays at Pension Silvia and it was wonderful! Ms Silvia tried to meet all our needs. First of all she helped us to make a reservation that suits our family needs even if she didn't know us at that time. She was very helpful with her advices where to go and what to do. She was also very nice buying us gluten free bread so my mom could have normal breakfast.||The Pension is great! As we are a big family we had opportunity to see how it looks 2 rooms-apartment, delux room and normal room. All of it left us speechless! Every room is well equipped, everything is new and great. Every room has sea view and a big balcony where you can do a morning yoga routine or just enjoy the view and drinking coffee. A cleaning lady is also very dear.||A location is great, 10-15min walk from the Portoroz center. There is parking for everyone. ||If there is anything you need, Ms Silvia will do her best to help you, make it easier for you or just to be a pleasant company. ||Next time we are coming to Portoroz, we will definitely stay at...
Read moreThe pensions B&B has a fancy-looking website inviting visitors to use the booking service provided, with much handwaving about it being the best way to book at this place. So we used it, rather than going through a booking site. Last night we booked a room for our stay (we're out late, so finding a room is getting hard and we were very pleased to find this). The system worked well, and we got an email confirmation immediately. Task completed, and a good nights sleep rather than having to look for other places. Great!
This morning we woke up to a message from Pension Silvia that the booking was cancelled as the room was not really available...
You can take this either as a warning and a reason to use the big booking services rather than what the place you want to book tells you to use, or as a warning not to book at Pension Silvia. Your choice. Us? We're spending tonight looking for someplace to stay - and it is considerably more...
