Veduta Bernardin — Restaurant in Upravna enota Piran / Unità amministrativa Pirano

Although for some reason, it’s not easy to find a decent restaurant on the Slovenian coast, Veduta Bernardin is for sure one of the exemptions so far, at least for us. Popped in for an early dinner on one of the beautiful sunny September days, from start till end it was a very nice dinner experience. At our arrival we were friendly greeted straight away by Zoran (hope we got his name right, you rock Zoran) and seated at the table we liked without any problem. His attitude & service was highly professional, he took care of us to the spot, even with a few of our extra wishes (one of them a bit less salty food as my wife prefers food a bit on less salty side). Food was great (we ordered grilled mixed meats and mixed fish platters, with a Greek salad on the side). Everything was very tasty, juicy and tasted fresh & fast served too! He later on came by a few times just to make sure all is good and yes we were satisfied at the end with the whole thing, especially because they also had Panna Cotta available, which was as everything else delightful as well! Can not recommend this place. Went there with 10 people (1 Family, well educated), when we asked if it is possible to put 2 tables outside together, it was not possible. They forgot one order on the table who had to wait for 1 hour I had Spaghetti (average at best), the Calamari was not cooked well. When my aunt complained of it, we got the feedback "We got thousands of good reviews about the calamri and you are the first one who ever complained!" as it was our fault or as if we have insulted somebody (the manager took it then from the bill). Getting the appetizers in a half empty restaurant takes more than half an hour. Nobody clears the table until main course arrives 45 mins later. Nobody checks if the steak is properly cooked - it is more well done than you can imagine even though medium was ordered. It takes 30 mins after we are finished for someone to clear the table - absolutely no apologies for the poor quality. Then it takes a full one hour to get the bill even though I asked it for three times. No apologies or anything and full price paid....
