ON HILL LODGE — Hotel in Bayswater

Great location (except for room facing busy street). Smart reception area. But...||The rooms are not very well-secured - my room had a simple sliding door, with no way of me securing it from the inside. Pillows were stained and yellowed. Shower cubicle was very dark because the light was not working. One of the bedside lamps was also not working. Only one teabag. No real milk. Toilet cubicle very small. No towels in my room. Not even a tiny bar of soap, not even to wash hands. One of the other rooms also had only one towel. When asked the day before, I had informed the lodge of how many we were. But even after asking for towels, on the whatsapp line, my husband had to get up early on a freezing morning, to go begging for towels. We didn't even have hand towels. ||One of the rooms did not have a blanket for the bed. Cold winter's night. And who wants to have a noisy aircon on the whole night? ||One of our other rooms had a terrible noise the whole night - probably from a faulty geyser. I complained about it on the whatsapp line, and have been ignored. In the same room, the toilet was loose. Not the seat, but the actual toilet. ||When we arrived, we saw a sign in reception, stating quite clearly that breakfast was from 7-9am. When we arrived in the dining area at 7h30, we were asked to leave, because they weren't aware we'd be there so early. We had to wait till 8 before the food was ready. And then we got the most basic of breakfasts. With a vienna. Yes, a Vienna. Slice of cold tomato, 2 rashers of bacon, and mediocre scrambled eggs. No choice of fried eggs. ||Also, at one point my daughter was going to fetch something from her room, when she noticed an employee outside the room, with no apparent reason for her needing to be there. This was long before we checked out. Employees should not be going into our rooms unless we ask them to, or if they inform us of a need to do so.||||By far, the most disappointing accommodation we've ever had, and we would not have been so annoyed if at least, they had attempted to rectify or apologise.||Otherwise, the general impression is good, great parking area, and great pool area for when...

I will never recommended anyone to stay her due to the following. The shower door was broken and brought to their attention and the toilet was not mounded to the floor and almost fell over, loose and leaking water. The kettle we had to plug in under the dresser as the cord was to short to reach the top of the dressing tabel and stood on the floor. No hand soap or shampoo and shower cup was available. The noise level carried on till 3 o'clock in the morning, covid curve not adhere to. We indicated that we will be leaving at 5 in the morning, they indicated that there will be someone to open. No one was available and we had to let ourselves out through the kitchens back door. I had to throw the remote threw the door. I contacted then for the owners number but was informed that they are not aloud to give it out, but gave the managers number 0738561382. Tried to call him numerous time, only voice mail. It's a disgrace that they are a 4 star lodge. The reviews made are from black people indicating its great....It leaves alot to wonder about?....
