My experience from DAY ONE has been pathetic (to say the least). When I joined, I was not informed that it is a two-year contract- the agent just decided that I want a two-year contract. I was also NOT informed about an increase in my contract fee monthly when I aged up or when I was in the contract for more than a year. My contract has increased by R127 since last year May. I joined at R399,00 a month (barely being able to afford that but desperately wanting to get fit). ONE MONTH later, it went up to R499,00. June this year, it went up to R526,00. When I walked into the gym my VERY FIRST day, some trainer wanted people for an advance heat class- she would not take no for an answer- basically forced my bf and me into the class- he experienced exercise-induced nausea, I ended up fracturing my wrist at multiple places when those "step-up" exercise slipped out underneath me. I couldn't use my arm at all for almost 3 months, so suspended my account due to medical reasons for the time. When I went back months later to try again- I saw those steps had rubbers underneath them now to avoid slippage (that was one good thing I can say about Virgin Active). However, my wrist is still giving me issues- more than a year later- and struggle to use it to lift heavy objects. Legally speaking- I know Virgin Active can't be hold liable for injuries occurring on their property, but the injury would never have occurred if I received my free induction session rather than a trainer coercing an (obviously) overwhelmed newbie into a class that was noticeably too advanced for her. Now, I have just had enough- I do not wish to continue with the contract anymore- but found out that I will have to pay half of the remaining contract fee remaining, Now, if I struggled to pay R399,00. I can't afford the R526,00. Where will I have the money laying around for R2 893.00???? Should also add, friends of mine NEVER received an increase, regardless of birthdays or annually. So, that is also very suspicious. Sooo, yeah. Would definitely...
Read moreThe weight section is very small The studios are wasted space since its barley used. Only 1 pully row machine that is damaged. Only One flat bench press.
Can't move during peak hour.
Ive recently moved from Cape Town toe Bloemfontein. Virgin Active Northridge mall is much more expensive then Virgen Active De ville centre but has much less to offer.
When power is out the staff simple pull up their shoulders and say sorry no water while de ville center always provided big water bottels and fill yoir bottel themselves for covid regulations.

Read moreI was shocked to see how little equipment the new gym has compared to the old one, I could not do my workout as there was not equipment for all the members on the floor and it was not even peak time, so I just left after 30 minutes of mostly waiting for something to open up, the coffee shop downstairs is bigger than the TINY weight training area!! THIS IS NOT AN UPGRADE!!! The old gym already had a issue with space in the weight area and you just went and made it smaller!!!! Here is to loosing...
