President Hotel Naval Hill — Hotel in Bloemfontein CBD

President Hotel at Bloemfontein was a real disappointment. We saw the hotel while on Naval hill reserve. The hotel looked nice, but our stay was far from nice. After spending seven hours on the road and arriving at 14h00 the rooms we booked were not ready for check-in. So, we waited about 30 minutes. The TV’s reception on most of the channels were not watchable - could not be viewed, there was no movie channels only sport and new channels. No Wi-Fi in all 3 rooms. Breakfast was a very limited buffet on the first day. My colleague was advised he could only have two eggs. Very limited food for a vegetarian – in fact nothing suitable for a vegetarian. The chef made a cheese & veg sandwich which was toasted on the same area where the eggs were fried. On the 2nd day there was no buffet, and the menu was even more limited. Well now, the reception area plays elevator type of jazz, fits with the ambiance of that area's lighting. The staff are all soft spoken, not sure if its a requirement or their policy, but it actually makes everyone else polite towards the staff. They have big conference rooms, I feel like almost every indoor meeting would be accommodated here. Concerning the food, which can make or break a hotel was actually well cooked, edible, nothing fancy, normally what I encounter on most menus at lodges and guesthouses, slightly strange for a hotel, but there wasn't anything particularly unpleasant about their food. The location is decent, its right below the Naval Hill which has the statue of former SA President Nelson Mandela looking down the President Hotel, very fitting. The hotel is at the border of the city and the suburbs, it makes it perfect for people preferring quiet over the restless city. There's wheelchair access, safe parking areas. outdated and OLD hotel.

I don't know where to begin. This hotel is outdated, even though the receptionist welcomed us in perfect and honorable way. I arrived at the hotel on 2023-06-20 and departure on 2023-06-24.

Bad rooms ever they've booked me on ROOM 819. ¹ At SHOWER, hot water took an hour to be hot ² TV was not working, even though they came to fix it. kodwa, it was only playing SABC 1. SPORTS PSL ONLY. ³ IT was cold in my room, the heater and kettle was trading electricity ⁴ bathroom was not properly cleaned ⁵ Bath tap. It was pilling off. ⁶ The door was not closing properly, and the lady that was cleaning my room opened my room while I was sleeping.

Shorty the hotel is horrible, I'm requesting hotel management to take consideration into upgrading the hotel standard, because the was no enjoyment, it's dirty and the is no proper security standard.

They also need to install SAFE and bar fridge. The room I was using was not having them.
