Honeysuckle Clarens — Hotel in Dihlabeng Local Municipality

Honeysuckle-Clarens offers two different types of accommodation and is situated in a fairly quiet area, just a few minutes' walk from the town center. It’s only about a 10-minute walk to the Clarens Brewery. The town feels quite safe, so it’s no problem to walk back to the accommodation even after dark — something the host also confirmed.||||Communication with Marcie before arrival was smooth, ensuring a warm and welcoming check-in.||||I chose the smaller accommodation option, “The Workshop.” The apartment is self-catering and has been furnished with great attention to detail. You don't have to worry about breakfast either — after prior arrangement, Marcie serves it either on your private terrace or indoors, depending on the weather. You would be hard-pressed to find a better place to stay in Clarens. We have travelled overseas extensively, and we have yet to receive the level of service we received at Honeysuckle cottage. Mercia and Johan are wonderful hosts and we most definitely felt like friends (not strangers) when we left. Mercia spoiled us with yummy, filling breakfasts that surprised us daily. Wir haben drei Nächte im Mai 2025 im Gästehaus "Honeysuckle" in Clarens verbracht. Tolles Gästehaus. Alles da was man braucht und noch viel viel mehr. Mercia, die Gastgeberin, ist absolut liebenswert und unheimlich nett. Sie hilft mit Rat und Tat bei allen Anliegen und hat immer einen super Ausflugstipp parat. Sofort bei Ankunft bekamen wir via WhatsApp alle Restaurants in der Gegend, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten und Wanderrouten von Mercia geschickt. Das ist ein grandioser Service. Aber das Frühstück schlägt alles. Nicht das Übliche (Toast,Wurst, Käse, Eier, Würstchen usw.), sondern jeden Morgen etwas Neues. Es gab immer Früchte als Obstsalat, im Joghurt oder als Smoothie. Danach ein dünner Pfannkuchen deftig gefüllt, oder eine herzhafte Tarte. Auch ein spezielles Frühstück aus Lesotho (Pap mit Gemüse und Fleisch) aus einem kleinen Schmorrtopf wurde serviert. Einfach unglaublich abwechslungsreich und nicht von der Stange. Natürlich Kaffee oder Tee und ein frischer Saft gab es dazu. Wollte man etwas anderes frühstücken, kein Problem,einfach bestellen. Das Honeysuckle war absolut sauber, geräumig und mit liebe zum Detail, da hat Mercia das richtige Händchen, eingerichtet. Obwohl es bei uns Nachts bitterkalt war (wir hatten Heizdecken in den Betten) haben wir jeden Morgen bei 6-8 Grad im Freien gefrühstückt. Und das war richtig toll. Vielen Dank für die tolle Unterkunft, die vielen Tipps und für deine freundliche Art. Das Honeysuckel ist absolut empfehlneswert und nur etwa 8 Minuten zu Fuß vom Ortskern von Clarens entfernt.
