City Lodge Hotel Newtown — Hotel in Gauteng

Nice hotel, pool and restaurant but the pool is a bit too long to ever get properly warm I think and it's inside the restaurant so you cant really just go down in your bikini and have a dip as there will always be people watching you. Also you arent allowed to take the room towels down to the pool and you arent allowed to take the pool towels up to the room so you need to go down to swim with your clothes on, swim, dry off and put your clothes back on to go upstairs which I found highly off putting. The rooms are decent size with a little balcony which I love except the night I was there they were having some event down in the restaurant and the music was so loud in the room there was no way to block it out at all. The restaurant closes at 10 and they dont have room service for some reason. Theres also no hairdryer or even a pen and paper in the room to write with. No fridge and no microwave either- not essential but still wouldve been nice. Nice...

City Lodge Hotel is one of my best hotels of which l would recommend clients who are looking for a quiet, peaceful ☮️, accomodative and safe hotel.I have been using City Lodge for 4years .The reason for me renting there it's because of its safety location,that is the number one factor l would love clients and people to consider first that they are safe .The location is great because it's next to Newtown Mall where grocery shops like shoprite,pick n pay are sited and some clothing shops with good quality clothings are also sited .The place is convenient.Gyms are near by .The City Lodge Hotel has a free WiFi which is superb.There are air conditioners.The securities at City Lodge Hotel are fermable trustable.So for me l would for those ones looking for good hotels,just try City Lodge Hotel,lve been into it for some time and it's good.Not to forget a big swimming pool which is sited on...

Could have easily given this place a 5 star rating, just had 1 unpleasant encounter. Check out is at 11 am( very convenient), went for breakfast at 9am and went back to my room around 9:45am ..only to find my entire bedding removed from the bed. Had not checked out yet. This honestly felt like I'm being chased out of the room that I'd fully paid for!!!! They need to do better in this regard.

Overall, the staff was friendly, the rooms and hotel was clean. Loved how technologically advance things were, check in was done through the mobile scanner platform and the menus were also available on the platform. The food at the restaurant was great, loved the buffet for breakfast, very affordable too! The hotel is situated next to a mall (very convenient) and is not for from the city center. Had a beautiful view of the Mandela Bridge...
