CT Hotel — Hotel in Gauteng

Arrived to a very stylish building . Inside was very plush . Received very well by reception staff. Room was massive and clean. There was a rug at the bottom of the bed which is a lawsuit waiting to happen . It wasnt fixed to the wooden floor and slipped when i stood on it . I folded it and shoved it under the bed . The bathroom was spacious but the hot water took an age and lots of water was wasted before it was warm enough. Breakfast was buffet style but was cold not sure if it was actually on . Food was a little strange for a Brit but i ate it. Plenty of choice and there was a chef to prepare dishes as required omlettes etc. Next days breakfast was better . Pool outside wasnt as clean as expected but it was their winter 20* isnt winter in uk . Cost of drinks in this hotel was unbelieveable , cheaper than UK by a country mile . A 5 star hotel? With 5 star pricing? However, from the moment we entered we were disappointed. The staff are incredibly rude and not in the mood to be there, we were told to pay R300 additional for parking? First time in my life where I have had to pay for parking at an hotel where I have paid for a room to stay in? We were appauled by the state of our room, the towels, sheets and bedding are old and not in good shape. During our stay (which consisted of 1 night) we saw 7 cockroaches in our room (2 being nearly the size of a mouse), our aircon was not in working condition and finally we did not have a view of the union buildings as promised upon booking - not that a better view could even distract us from the state of the...

Extremely disappointed with shuttle service. In their services they include local shuttle service, but I was not informed I had to pay myself. They informed me the shuttle service is outsourced and they get someone to do the shuttle. I used the shuttle three times and after being dropped off for the last time, the driver demanded I pay him R900 for three trips. I contacted the hotel and they informed me that they do not do this as a free service and when you book you must include payment for shuttling. Why do they advertise local shuttling but for airport shuttles extra cost. I only used the shuttle to venue in Pretoria. Very...
