On the 10 Nov. 2020 i tried checking in to maxim hotel at 18:15. I am highly disapointed in the hotel with regards to covid regulations. The receptionist did not have their masks on eventhough they knew that they would have to give me a registration card to sign. They lady even went as far as eating a chewing gum in my presence when I refused to check in until they had their masks on. The security tried to speak to them with no budge. One can only wonder how their rooms are like.
Just because their prices are reasonable, does not mean that they do not need some of uswith the idea that, there will still be more guests checking in. It's quite disrespectful...

Maxim hotel lost its touch. I went there 2024 February then that was my last and final stay because everything has changed.
It's dirty with cockroaches running everywhere, some rooms still stink after they cleaned, It's now noisy worse at night 23:00- 8am, it's like a hostel with sexual sounds from 1st to 5th floor & honestly there's no need to act like this as adults. Sies mahn.

Read moreI checked in with my GF for two nights, and for just over R400, we feel we got value for money. The room was huge and had its own bathtub and toilet... But the tub was a bit rusty, and there was also no bath foam, so there were stains left behind after we bathed. Fortunately, room service sorted that out and came in to clean our bathroom and the rest of the room daily...The location isn't that bad; there are plenty of restaurants and shopping malls within a few minutes walk... Just don't venture too far out into Sunnyside at night...For budget travelers staying in PTA Central, it's worth it; we will definitely check in again next time we...
