I have been planning to go to a museum in Pretoria for a while. My laziness had me postponing a simple visit.
In one of those perfect pedestrian weather days I visited the closest Art museum I could find. At first what had me was the surroundings. Open air urban environment and right in the middle of a park that was rich with human activity, mostly filled with people enjoying Pretorias' summer weather was an intimidating abstract sculpture which invited my curiosity.
One thing I was not expecting was the fee of R20.00 for entry, because all public museums I've been in, in Central Johannesburg were for free. I told myself, what's a Street Wise Two any way.

The museum does have variety of themes they cover but only 4 are the biggest. Out of the 4 themes only one stood out for me personally. Some of the displayed art is rather disappointing but it is still worth checking out. I'm just sharing so one wouldn't be disappointed due to high expectations.

The art that is displayed is really amazing, and they have works by very interesting and well-known South African artists as well as international artists. The building and surrounds are, however, in a sad state. There is a large park around the building, complete with swings and slides for children, but the grass had not been cut for a while.
