Elson Lodge — Hotel in Gauteng

I called in earlier to check the availability of the room. I was told that there was space and asked if they take card payments which they confirmed they do.. Upon my arrival I was told to wait for an hoto get the vacant room which I didn't have the problem with. After an hour the lady asked me to come through and make a payment, only to find out their card machine was faulty and she refused to let me in before paying cz I didn't carry cash with me. The lady was so rude and very ignorant didn't apologize for their faulty card machine she just carried on doing her own things and expected me to walk out of the gate at 23:00 with a 5 yr old child. Only got assisted by another guest asked her to try the machine again. I will not recommend this to anyone, really had bad experience, tv not working and the bathroom was dirty and there was no guest soap. I stayed over on...

What a horrid experience! After having booked - and paid - two days prior to my arrival, staff was blissfully unaware that I had booked - or paid. I was requested to prove that I had indeed paid. What an embarrassment. After having spent the whole day with my gravely ill father in a local hospital's ICU, I had to wait in the rain as the staff scurried to get me a room. Three rooms later, I just gave up. Room 1's TV had no signal, room 2's door could not close properly and room 3 did not even have basic amenities such as soap. Tired and emotional, I had to search for another lodge in the vicinity of the hospital. I will definitely NOT recommend Elson Lodge to anyone! And best of all, the lodge refuses...

Very noisy guests all around you till late @ night.

Night club loud music right opposite them.

Bright night watch light right outside all of the rooms and right next to the reception. Can't sleep - No Melatonin Production will occur.

Receptionst / Lodge host does not communicate well and understands very little english, or feels uncomfortable with the Language or those who speak it

Clean but small rooms

Feee Wifi but epically slow think around Dial up 56k speeds on your phone for basic browsing.
