Not good at all. When entering the mall i had my mask below my nose, security ask me to close my nose witch i did. walking into the entance i noticed that a lady working at the furniture shop was wearing her mask below her mouth there was a gentleman standing with his stand in the doorway also not covering his mouth and nose. so i decided to ask the security way these people are allow to not wear there mask but customers must. He explain to me that they are in there stores and that it doesnt matter. I ask why? Het got upset and started to point to met and said that i am provoking him . I took fotos as i didnt know how to defend my self at that moment. He said that i am not allowed to take fotos ,that he will make a case. I then replied that i wil call and then he can make a case.As he was still with in my space and pointing to me the other gentleman joint him. Both of them got in my space and i put my hands up and tried to walk away. I ask for center manager but they were not available. The security manager came and took my details and removed the guy from the door . He also took time to calm me and listened to what i have to say. He explained that the rules for customers and shop owners are the same. Yes after i have done my shopping at pick an Pay i left throw the same entrance and the gentleman at the stall was still not wearing his mask properly. I feel that i do have the right to ask if rules are different for people inside the mall to customers. I dint mean to be nasty . I only ask a question. Thank you for assisting and calming me down...
Read moreAgain, I grew up in Alberton and one of my earliest memories was of this shopping center being built, the hype around that and the Alberton boulevard. Both of these were nice spaces to spend a morning at, even though I have a fond dislike for busy spaces, icecream at the Milky lane, and a quiet few minutes by the fountain listening for the half hour from the clocktower. Everything clean and neat, full of energy and a positive vibe, life going on around you The sad truth in my opinion.... go into the pick and pay and walk the aisles. You walk out feeling drained, and a little mucky, not that the shop isnt clean but it is clutterred, the back half of the shop is stacked with pallets in such a way that you end up having to walk around stuff to get where you are going, you get a whiff of fresh produce right on the verge of going bad, the meat section, yeah lets no go there.... you have more employees in the aisles than there are customers in the shop... a complete contrast to the hyperclean and super organized vibe I had the first time I was in there. It sort of makes sense why there is no parking at the lemon tree these days and why you are spoilt for choice parking at Alberton City... the pick and pay is my metaphor. The city centre is, in my opinion, dying off slowly, a result of years worth of neglect and lack of municipal bylaws...

It has basic stores where fittings and fixtures are of low grade (Musica - looks dark and dodgy?.
There are no proper or decent restaurants in the mall other than the over rated Maxis with oily and greecy food and bad coffee.
The general feel of the mall caters for a specific type of people and should bu now have been upgraded to stand out from the rest of the open malls in the surrounding areas.
Anchor tenants, but the mall lacks personality and does not appeal nor attract your upper class client, hence the reason we'd rather drive 15km's further to Mall of the South (FYI - Alberton City is walking distance feom where i live) with far better restaurants and decent sized shops with proper fittings and an AIRCON that works.
In summary the mall is on the downslope and not a place to visit in summer as it is always hot and humid inside.
Not one of my top 3 malls...
