Foundry Guest Lodge — Hotel in Gauteng

Went for lunch on Sunday 10 Oct 2022. Ordered the fish basket and a double Bloody Mary. The waitress was extremely slow and delivered the only a tomato juice and a glass with ice - no vodka in the glass. Then when the food arrived, it arrived without the fish cakes, no lemon to go with the fish basket and no lemon butter sauce that, for the price tag of R175, was all missing.. I was only then told that it no longer comes with fish cakes. By the time the lemon and sauce arrived, my food was cold. The service was slow and panful. A dog was barking incessantly during the experience that seems to live on the premises. When the live band finished, there was chaos with the music that went between Formula One, classical musical and a Christian sermon, all at top volume. I repeatedly asked to see the manager. Eventually the women at the table next to us came up to me to see what the commotion was. Turns out she is the owner\manager and just paid us no attention. I booked accommodation for one night for 14 people through Booking.com. Tried to communicate that this was for a Bachelorette party several times through the booking.com platform and had little to none feedback on renting tables, utensils and crockery, other questions were answered and other matters were discussed on this platform with the owner with no problems. Today I canceled the accommodation, had to constantly remind them what the accomodation was for, reminding them it's for a bachelorettes and on #99 getting told that there are hiring fees, generator fees of R500 per hour if the power goes off, cleaning fees etc. after already paying full amount qouted for. Dealing with a severely rude owner, constantly speaking over you, killing phone calls, blocking you on what's app, refusing to send POP of the refund, insinuating that me and my kind are from "the other side of the train tracks". We stayed at the Foundry two weekends ago. I was with my husband, infant daughter, and my parents. We were able to book a "family" room which had a king sized bed and two twin beds, as well as a large sitting area. It was very spacious, and a good value (I think it was about R 950.) It was also connected to room with two beds where my parents stayed. The set up was perfect for us. The only reason I didn't give the hotel a rating of five was that the breakfast was a bit lacking. They had only terrible tasting instant coffee (instead of filter or brewed coffee), and they served some pretty uninspired canned peaches, even though it's summertime here and there are plenty of delicious fresh peaches that would have been much better.
