This place is just what you need in a place like Gauteng.||Less a guest house, more a retreat. |Peter is a wonderful host. He speaks less but just takes care of all your needs. He also makes fantastic breakfast. ||This place has a dorm, two basic yet well done up rooms with sit outs and all amenities, a pantry and a pool.||It’s more like a BNB, with a lot of food options and recreational activities within a 20 min distance. Extremely quiet, except for the sound of birds and water fountain. Peter’s also makes these cute sitting areas in the garden where you can just sit and read or meditate by small lotus pond. He also boasts of a fantastic organic kitchen garden and serves you what grows. |And not to forget, the dogs make for excellent company.|||We had a fantastic Christmas Eve at this place, sipping wine by our Christmas tree and listening to beatles. This place is serene, good for couples and families. ||Would definitely recommend for anyone who is in Gauteng. ||Thanks Peter, will visit...

As I was to be on my own for the first few days of my trip to South Africa I was seeking a place of safety until my partner arrived. Two weeks before I travelled I had been told that my original booking had fallen through (having been booked 10 months earlier!) but Pete's Retreat was recommended as an alternative. ||||I am very glad and fortunate that Pieter and Hester were my new hosts particularly as I was unexpectedly unwell just after I arrived. They were the kindest of hosts helping me to recover quickly. The accommodation was just what I required, the food provided was delicious and there was a lovely garden and pool. I cannot thank them enough for their hospitality and will definitely book there again next time I visit...
