Never felt so unsafe in an accommodation stay in another city the way we did. We had booked 2 rooms for 4 ladies for 2 nights unfortunately 1 didn’t make the trip. Firstly their number on the website doesn’t go through, emails was only responded a 2days before check in. When we checked in the room that we booked, which is called sapphire had an exiting door to the back of the room in the bathroom and it didn’t have a key, immediately we felt uncomfortable we quickly asked Blessing the receptionist if we could swap rooms as we felt it’s Not safe and she managed to place us in the room called Pearl. This room had issues like the shower head was half broken, the coffee station doesn’t have a plug to plug the kettle, the bedding has stains, the room had a bad smell, the to remote didn’t work so we had to call Blessing to assist every time. There was only 1 towel in each room as it’s supposed to be 2 for each room, only to be told the boss says they should only keep one towel for each room. Then the other room was located near the security’s tiny house, the bathroom didn’t have a burglar and when it was time for us to sleep the door was not closing from the inside and all 3 of us ended up sleeping squeezed in a double bed. We then informed Blessing about the door her response was we could have woken her up ( which was at 2am) and she only knew that there was a problem from the outside and had informed her manager but it was never sorted out. We then asked could we be refunded for the room as we didn’t sleep or use the room she said she will speak to her boss, but while we were chatting she asked if she could sell the room to someone as it was fully booked and we informed her we don’t feel safe in that room and we would like a refund. We noticed the room was occupied which means they didn’t have a loss. Blessing or the manager never got back to us we had to go on the day of Checkout to the reception. To enquire about us being refunded for the room, which ended up us talking to a manager over the phone ( whom sounded Nigerian) we didn’t get his name saying the only thing they could do is a free stay. we told him we have a flight catch and we won’t be able to extend our stay. We would like a full refund, he refused. We had booked through booking.com when we complained about the establishment they denied everything.
