MINT Express Melrose View & Residences — Hotel in Gauteng

Thank you for the wonderful stay but there were a few things that really should be addressed and handled by management in order to push up the quality of stay for guests. We had 1 bath towel in our room even though 2 people were staying there for the weekend, we had to request for more towels on the Saturday for the both of us. On Saturday night/ Sunday early morning there was alot of racket from outside as we were directly by the front gate and there was a man shouting at somebody in a car to move which woke majority of the guests, there needs to be more security to handle such altercations especially when Friday night there was also an incident where a lady and a man were arguing loudly outside. There was 1 security guy on Saturday night but that's not enough when you are going to be getting loud, drunk people staying at the hotel. Its a pity that there cafe is not fully functional yet as it would have made getting food easier but it was fairly easy bringing food in via Uber eats. The one side of the bed had a wire that you could feel stab you if you put your full weight on that side so the beds need to be checked and maintained better. There is no air conditioning in the room so you have to leave the window open which is abit scary seen as security isn't that tight. Overall the stay was okay but it could be better. We stayed 3nights and my partner extended an extra night he paid for the fee n send to the reception on his way out n I was left in the room ,housekeeping ladies came knocking to my room 2 times asking me if im extending they were sent by the rec I told them extension was done n third time @2pm a lady came I opened she said your guy he ddnt pay I went down stairs there was a guy who shouted at me for not paying on time and because I kept quite I ddnt want to argue without pop he went on saying things later in the evening wen he came back I was like how dd yu extend without paying that’s wen he said he paid thinking of how they treated me in the afternoon n we dd double payment I was very angry we went downstairs that guy denied everything n I told him you owe me an apology because it was your duty as a team to do handovers to check for payment not accusing someone for not paying whilst they had paid he said I don’t apologise right infront of me he could not take up for his actions I will never come back to this lodge again you ill treated me I wish I have taken this guy’s picture a (dark guy wearing white shirt and a jean ,you are tanishing the name of the lodge please change your attitude otherwise there won’t be...

Terrible Experience – Never Coming Back!

I stayed at this hotel expecting a decent experience, but it was a nightmare from start to finish. First off, there was no hot water in the room, which is completely unacceptable. The towels provided were dirty, smelly and stained, which made me question the overall cleanliness of the place.

To make matters worse, the toilet didn’t flush properly, leading to constant frustration. The whole room and corridors reeked of a strong smell of weed, which made it impossible to relax. This place is poorly maintained and not worth the money.

From the moment I checked in, I felt unwelcome. The front desk staff were unfriendly, barely making eye contact, and seemed more interested in the rap music being played from their phones. When I complained to them about the state of the room, I was met with apathetic and unhelpful responses.

The overall attitude of the staff was rude and condescending. It's clear that customer service is not a priority at this hotel. I would not recommend staying here if you expect any level of courtesy or professionalism.
