Kambaku@Sea is arguably the best hidden gem in the Sedgefield area. As you take the turn-off from the N2 you start heading up an unpaved gravel road that might at first look a bit daunting, but is actually not too bad. The ending of the gravel road opens up onto a beautiful scenic view of the valley and rivers below. The hotel used to be a house that has been beautifully renovated. A lovely garden with streams flowing through welcomes you in. Most of the rooms take advantage of the beautiful views, but our room (room 5) arguably had the best view. There is also a pool area down the hill (accessible by a staircase) which was awesome, also with a beautiful view. By far one of the highlights for me was when we had dinner with the sun setting over the valley in the background. Also one of the stand out points for us was the amount of bird life, and Bruce (one of the managers) is such an avid birder you can chat with him about everything you have seen and heard. While we were there we were lucky to hear the call of a Fish Eagle quite a few times which is always special. The hotel is also within 10 minutes of the town centre. It is very difficult to put into words what we experienced and not even the photos do Kambaku@Sea justice -all I can really say to summarize is that the hospitality (thank you so much Bruce and Kristen) and the views will take your...

We lived in absolute luxury. Our room was like out of a movie, the views, magical, the food, michellin star quality, the service, out of this world. The staff went out of their way to make our experience extra special as we were celebrating our honeymoon. I cried when I saw this place. They make you feel more than at home and goes above and beyond. We got to explore this beauty for 2 days. Greeted with welcome drinks, in our room we received a personalised welcome letter and champagne. We haven't had something to eat and Tristjan made us a beautiful platter of food to snack on. We got a 3 course meal, set up beautifully in our room. The next morning I was surprised with amazing breakfast on our deck. With each meal we received, which we could choose what we would like, Tristjan made us a customised menu, everything about this place is special and magical in so many ways. if I could give Kambaku at Sea a 10000000 I would. Definitely visiting soon and thank you Kambaku team, we...

What an absolutely beautiful lodge! We could not have asked for a better location, or more exquisite views from the lodge. Bruce and Tristan really went out of their way to welcome us and spoil us, including special welcome notes and an anniversary hamper with champagne, flowers and chocolate. The entire lodge is decorated with such style and attention to detail. Our room was spacious, with luxurious décor, overlooking breathtaking mountains and vlei. We so enjoyed the afternoon kayaking and birding on the Swartvlei, and enjoyed a romantic dinner upon our return. The meals were fantastic, well-presented and so delicious! I can highly recommend Kambaku @ Sea to anyone in need of some TLC or a romantic getaway. Wish we had enough time to swim in the sparkling, new swimming pool… We’ll save that for next time! Thank you so much for your excellent hospitality, Bruce...

Coming to Kambaku @Sea feels a little bit like going to another world or time. You enter this iron door, park you car and when showing around the house, you cant believe those stunning views. The room was spacious and had a small balcony. Somehow also the rooms have a little bit of a bizarre touch. A little bit hodgepodge of things which you dont expect (a vitine full of shells, etc), but it so much fits to this place! Amazing service, a personal breakfast buffet at your table in the morning will surprise you. And dont miss out dinner! The views are amazing during sunset, but the food is very well freshly prepared. We were so happy that we had dinner here also on our second evening. A place you will not regret to have visited!

The house's location gifts an awe-inspiring vista. With a distinct charm, the house exudes a unique allure, and its rooms are generously adorned with loving touches. Throughout our stay, the team consistently extended warmth, rendering our experience truly exceptional. An absolute must(!) is indulging in the dinner menu at least once. Immerse yourself in an exquisite evening meal while basking in the breathtakingly scenic view. The African dusk, coupled with this panorama, possesses a magical essence that will forever linger in my memory.
