MGM Wilderness l Mynhardt Guest Manor — Hotel in George

My husband and I stayed at MGM in Feb 2023 and we have absolutely nothing negative to say about our stay - it was absolutely perfect! The whole place is spotlessly clean, the hosts Elsebe and Dawie were the perfect hosts who couldn't do enough for you, our room was huge with big high ceilings and beautifully decorated with stunning views right on the beachfront. The view at sunset was stunning. The breakfast was relatively simple but all you would want - fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, homemade granola, fresh bread and pastries. They also had an egg/omelette station served with any toppings you wanted. The perfect breakfast - light and fresh every morning.|The property is located right on the beach, with steps from the terrace directly down to the sand where the beach stretches for miles, with a great restaurant for lunch (Salina's) just a 5mins walk down the beach. We drove a very short way in to town each evening for dinner (only a 4mins drive but we were recommended to drive as the walk was along a dark busy road) where there are great options. During the day, we went up to Ebb and Flow for a hike up to the waterfall, which was amazing, and there was also kayaking available in the nature park which we definitely would have done if we had a little more time. I spent hours scouring the internet for the perfect, beautiful, safe and quiet hideaway, and I'm thrilled to say that this manor exceeded my expectations in every way possible. The luxurious amenities, stunning natural surroundings, and top-notch hospitality all combined to create an unforgettable experience. This is one of the few spots worthwhile visiting, even in cold wet off season. Our hosts were amazing and we enjoyed all the manor had to offer. The location is unbeatable - with a beachfront setting and breathtaking sea views, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. The coffee, wine, beers, and spirits were all outstanding, and the proximity to national park nature walks and top golf courses made it an ideal base for exploring the area. We had a wonderful 2 nights stay at this lovely and very intimate guest house. The location is hard to to beat, right on the beach with just a few steps down. View from almost all rooms is towards the ocean. Everything is very modern and chic and immaculate clean, despite the heavy and aggressive salt water mist blowing from the sea. Breakfast was awesome and service by the innkeepers Elsabe and Dawie was truly amazing and wonderful. The omelette prepared by Dawie was one of the most delicious omelettes by far. Two things to consider: in our suite #4, there was no complete black-out curtain, due to the open bathroom, therefore better bring eyeshades if you don’t want to wake up early. Finally the lighting in the guesthouse and the room itself is very bright and cold.
