So here is the order of events as they happened: I (a vegan) ordered a veg sushi platter which said it contained 4 veg hand rolls and made no mention at all of containing mayo. I also double checked as to whether it really DOES have 4 veg hand rolls.
we went home with the order (it was a take away).
I noticed that it contained mayo and had only one veg hand roll.
I phone one of the owners and was told with great certainty that the menu explicitly states that mayo is on the food I ordered, but the fact that I didn't get my three hand rolls came as a shock.
I arrived and greeted as "the sushi dude" and was told to go speak to the chef.
I gave the menu a second look and found, contrary to what the owner told me, that there is no mention of mayo on the menu.
I told the owner this (she was in a great hurry as the restaurant was very busy, call that a valid excuse for rude treatment if you are so inclined) and she said, aggressively and while addressing me as "dude", that she "ASSUMED THAT, okay? I'm trying to help you, look I'm very busy. If you have a problem take it up with the chefs, they just rent the space from me and we serve their food, okay?" When I showed her that I was writing a negative review she said, "Criticise me all you like. I'll say I tried to help you". She didn't try to help me. She told me to "take it up with the chefs".
I was given only one extra hand roll and was told, by the sushi chef, to take it or have my money back, but he is not giving me four. It was a typo on the menu.
Interpret that as you deem fit before coming to this restaurant. We've eaten at this place three times. We won't do so again. (Ilali is better) My waitress, with the red hair, was kind and professional in every way and ought to advise her boss on how to treat clients.
I wish I could give less stars, that rude and disrespectful woman does not warrant her restaurant's popularity. Being busy is no excuse to treat clients like fussy children and she should be embarrassed she made such an excuse.
Reply to owners reply: I was asked why I don't go to the girls anymore and I pulled out ths review and noticed - and fixed - some typos. That posted it again. Glad to see you've maintained your delightful tone. I'm also not sure what you mean by "dealt with" if by dealt with you just mean I was told to "take it up with the chef" in...

Read moreI DREAM ABOUT THE FOOD. It's been 21 days since eating at this establishment. It was the best meal and dining experience I had in my entire life. I was going to order a burger because it's the safest food and I've had terrible dishes served to me in the Western Cape so didn't want to take chances. Well... I ordered the garlic bread and that was thr best garlic bread I ever had. It had roasted garlic, not something I'm familiar with. The chef, pretty sure it was the chef, brought this beautiful garlic bread to us and instructed is to take the roast garlic out and spread it on the bread. Didn't know garlic could do that... I needles to say felt more adventurous after that and ordered the coffee ribs instead of a burger YUM!!! I finished it with a desert... litchi with preserved ginger filling, with coconut sorbet and a hint of cardomom. I DREAM ABOUT THAT THE MOST. It's the strangest bestest desert I ever had. I then proceeded to taste and finish the frozen cheesecake. I wish I never ate here because everything else at any restaurant after that doesn't measure up. I'm not sorry we went there though, it gave me a taste of AWESOME, like real AWESOME. Thanks ladies!!! I'll be back in Wilderness if only to enjoy another meal at your beautiful place. Thank you for the beat dining experience of my 43...
