Chaka's Cove — Hotel in KwaDukuza Local Municipality

Althought the place has theee perfect location and beautiful views. The owner (host) of apartment 20, which we had booked in for the weekend was very rude and disrespectful to us as guests.On the day of checkout she sent her rude son to come, when he came into the house he didn't even greet! He marched into the house and started counting the cutlery like we would steal anything in that house. No word, whatsoever. He called his mother and handed the phone to my sister. The Owner (host) started swearing and disrespecting my sister! Imagine! We have never experienced such on any of the getaways we have been on. Moreover, the apartment was filthy from the day we arrived, with cockroaches running up and down the house.The linen was filthy, like it hadn't been washed before we arrived. It is has poor maintenance, the sinks are leaking, the mats were wet the entire time we were there. There's molds in some parts of the bathrooms. Just unhealthy.

If anyone wishes to visit Shaka's cove, I strongly recommend....its such a beautiful place, but please avoid booking into Apartment 20 otherwise your entire trip will be spoilt. Try other apartments, as a previous guest, I strongly advise against...

Location perfect, Views beautiful. Apartment we stayed, Apartment 20 to be specific is the worst. Apartment 20 is just so filthy dirty. That apartment does not deserved to be rented out. We had cockroaches moving around the apartment throughout the whole stay, very huge ones for that matter. The bedroom agghh were just so dirty, the beddings and pillows smell of sweat from previous guests. I wish we could have been told to bring our own sleeping material because I am on from the doctor as we speak because my skin has been itchy since i got there. Bathrooms have mold and a bad odor. I swear my dogs house is cleaner than that apartment. Furniture is very old and outdated (dust everywhere). It is just the worst place I have ever slept in.

To add on to this you as a guest are expected to clean the place upon departure (which explains why it is so dirty and cockroaches walking around the house). And the owner or manager of that apartment is either RUDE or just plain RACIST. Apartment 20 should not be rented out to humans. Currently looking for the KZN department of Health or whichever because what I saw there was just not healthy for us guests, especially coming from a different country to...

Excellent experience. The apartment we were in was modern and comfortable. The place is well maintained and the maid cleans hefore you arrive and after you leave with checkin at 14.00 and checkout at 10.00. There is dedicated parking.

The balcony offered a view of the ocean on the horizon and palm trees. Below that we could see the grassy patch, braai area, road and some of the other complexes nearby.

The pool was enclosed by a wall which keeps the wind out and the pool has is a decent size. There were two tables in the shade though a lot of people put there towel on the grass. No day beds but there is a toilet around the corner of the little building next to the pool. There is a jungle gym with a slide as well.

Beach access is via access control gate next to the pool which requires walking down a short flight of steps, crossing the road, and going down a long ramp/stairs to the beach. There are outside showers next to the pool for washing off after as well.
