Urban Glamping Four Star Accommodation — Hotel in Mtubatuba Local Municipality

For those looking for a "Camping in Style" holiday, this is a great destination.

Our family stayed in Budget Tents over Christmas-New Year and really enjoyed our stay.

Urban Glamping is right in the centre of the little town and is so convenient. Wimpy right next door for breakfast. Laundry on the other side for dropping off washing and decently priced. Restaurants, variety of shops (also well stocked Spar and ShopRite) and pubs all within walking distance.

Plenty of activities in and around St Lucia - game drives, various beach visits, hire bikes, hippo & croc boat cruises, horse riding, nature walks, fishing etc.

Budget tents are under an overhead canopy so rain doesn't impact. All tents have an overhead fan so keep you cool at night. Beds were comfortable with feather duvets. A wooden clothes horse is provided next to each tent for hanging up towels etc.

The ablutions are clean and constantly attended to. Double ply loo paper in plentiful supply! Showers are gas heated. We did battle to get hot water to flow in some of the showers.

Kitchens are clean and well stocked with dishes, pots, kettles, cutlery etc. Also cleaned constantly. No washing dishes as they are done for you.

There are sections of the fridges allocated to each tent so you can keep your drinks and food stuffs cool. We did find our fridge never got cold enough so that was a little disappointing.

Lovely, clean pool with various private lounges, sun loungers and dining tables around make for a comfortable stay. Braai area is available next to the pools so braais are very popular.

There is a Pool table and a Soccer table that operate with R5 coins - great fun for everyone.

There is also secure parking in the facility.

We had an enjoyable stay and met some interesting people from all over the world.

Loved that Urban Glamping is a quiet zone. Anyone disturbing the peace is immediately evicted!

An unforgettable stay at Urban Glamping

If you're planning a trip to St. Lucia, stop looking this is the place to be! This incredible property offers two separate accommodation area’s each with its own charm and character, and both are absolutely fantastic.

On one side, you have the luxury area, where we stayed in a beautiful glamping tent stylish, spacious, and so comfortable, blending outdoor adventure with hotel-level comfort. On the other side, there's a more basic backpackers' area with simpler tents that are just as cozy and inviting. Both areas have their own private swimming pool, a fully equipped kitchen, and beautiful spaces to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

And honestly? Everything was spotlessly clean. The level of care and detail is incredible. We’ve never had towels that smelled this good, fresh, clean, and beautifully presented. It’s those little touches that make all the difference.

What makes this place even more special is how much there is to do in the area. The reception staff are so friendly and helpful, and they can arrange a wide variety of activities for you from horseback riding, to cultural tours, biking adventures, and unforgettable hippo & crocodile tours There’s truly something for everyone here.

St. Lucia itself is an absolute gem a perfect mix of wildlife, culture, and relaxation. And staying here made our experience even more memorable. Whether you're looking for a relaxed luxury vibe or a fun backpackers’ social atmosphere, this place gives you the best of both worlds.

If you think back-packer – you think plain simple sleep dorms just a place to sleep. Not Monzi Back-packers. Here you sleep-over in style. This gives a new meaning to back-packer!! Really enjoyed the stay. 2 Swimming pools – braai areas. You will find clean neat bathrooms – with hot water. The dorms are separate men and woman and there are also dorm tents for couples. Very safe and secure with 24 hours security. You have your own lock-up cupboard in the room and beds are so comfy and cozy – had a great night’s rest. Braai area with small kitchen area – sharing – games room and tv to watch for everyone. The nest-like chairs at the pool were the best for me during the stay. Very private even thou you are sharing with all the back-packers/guests. This are a definite must visit if you are in St Lucia, South Africa – I will definitely visit again soon. They also offer safaris and other trips – please ask at the counter. The staff are so friendly and helpful – you will not have any problems here – now you ask yourself for all this how much you will be paying?
