Milkwood Lodge Guest Lodge Hermanus — Hotel in Overstrand Local Municipality

Milkwood lodge is a lovely place to stay just outside of the centre of Hermanus. From the moment we arrived Linda was welcoming and friendly.||We arrived at the same time as some issues in the town with taxi strikes and Linda tried really hard to find us somewhere to go for dinner, ringing round restaurants for us as most seemed to be closed on our first night! She booked a table for us on our second night there and thankfully we did find somewhere to go for our first night.||The cottage we stayed in was very spacious and comfortable, with a lovely big bed in the main bedroom and even our own outside space. The main room had underfloor heating which was really welcome as the weather had turned a bit chilly. ||The shower in the bathroom was amazing, really good pressure and warm water - it was difficult to get out!||There was a pool available but we didn't use it as it was just too cold.||Breakfast was included and there was plenty of choice, from cereals and toast and pastry and they made some cooked items that we wanted. ||The location of the lodge is on the main road in and our of Hermanus and a short drive into the centre of town.||I'd definitely recommend...

This stay brought to a close our three week trip to South Africa and we couldn't have picked a better place to do so. Milkwood Lodge is easy to find and is a short walk to one of the best beaches in Hermanus although you need to drive to get to the centre of the town. We stayed in the cottage and the facilities were excellent including a washing machine which allowed us the luxury of a clean set of clothes to travel home in. Our host Linda couldn't have been more accommodating in helping us plan our time in Hermanus and with recommendations of restaurants which were all excellent. She was also very helpful in pre-visit correspondence. Her insight of Hermanus and South Africa in general was enlightening and I learned a lot from our chats during our stay. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day....

wir sind aufgrund einer empfehlung nach hermanus, und unterkunftsmässig zur "milkwood||lodge" gekommen. man sollte auch wissen,das wir leidenschaftliche whalewatcher sind und||für tipps immer dankbar sind. die erwartungen waren also "sehr hoch" geschraubt - - und||wurden "nicht im geringsten" enttäuscht... :))||||zwei wochen wohnten wir in der Milkwood Lodge - - wale direkt "vor der haustür" - - okay,||wir hatten uns immer den "Roman Rock" als aussichtspunkt gewählt, wo wir dann stunden||um stunden gesessen hatten und den walen zugeschaut hatten...||||deutsche sind ja - - speziell was das frühstück angeht sehr kritisch. doch hier gab es alles (!)||was das frühstücksherz begehrt: frische brötchen, brot nach deutscher art (!), wurst und||käse die anscheined von einem deutsch metzger aus capetown stammen (!), eier in jeglicher||Form (gekocht, und was wir sehr mögen als rührei mit speck), frische marmelade (selbstgemacht!), frisches geschnittenes obst, an manchen tagen geräucherten lachs und||anderen geräucherten fisch (wir mögen soetwas zum frühstück!!), yoghurt und cerealien||verschiedenster art - - und natürlich frischen kaffee oder tee - - wer hier zum frühstück||nichts findet?? - - ich weiss nicht, aus welches ecke der erde der kommen muss, um nichts||passendes zu finden... ;)||||das alles in ausreichender menge, nichts abgezählt, kaffee soviel man will - - also ein||perfekter start in den tag... ein "frühstückserlebniss" wird mir aber ewig in einnerung||bleiben: ich unterhielt mich LINDA über müslis, speziell das "Bircher Müsli" - - einfach nur||so...||und was soll ich sagen - - die nächsten tage stand das dann "immer" auf dem frühstücksbüffee - - ich war sehr verblüfft - -soetwas hatte ich ja noch von keinem B&B||erlebt - - und wir sind wegen whalewatching viel (zwei mal im jahr) auf dem globus unterwegs.||||ebenso das zimmer - - nichts auszusetzen - - ruhige lage, sauber alles wie es sein soll.||||wir haben uns wie zuhause gefühlt - - bei problemen - - und die hatten wir mit dem mietwagen - - und buchungen von touren (haitauchen, seelöwen , pinguine etc..)||wurde uns sofort geholfen... :)))||||als unsere zwei wochen "leider" vorbei waren hatten wir über 13000 fotos von flora und||fauna (wale-fotos natürlich und andere tiere) im gepäck, und ich glaube auch neue||freunde gefunden - - - wir werden hier "ganz bestimmt" wieder einmal vorbeischauen...||...wir werden diese ort in guter erinnerung halten.||||der preis ist deshalb mehr als...
