The host (Corna) was very friendly and welcoming - she created a great first impression and check in was very easy and informative. The room was enormous, more like a suite with a substantial dressing area, huge bathroom and an extremely comfortable king-sized bed. It also came with its own, enclosed patio area. The room made for an exceedingly comfortable stay. The pool area receives plenty of sun, with well-kept and comfortable sun beds. Breakfast was buffet-style, with a cooked breakfast available (included)- there is also an honesty box for any drinks purchases. The quality of breakfast was great, and everything looked spotlessly clean. The bonus feature is the extremely friendly dog (Gizmo) and a beautiful cat who made frequent visits to the pool and breakfast area. I suppose, if you don't like dogs, this might be an issue- however Gizmo was very well behaved and loveable. I don't really understand comments from those saying the guesthouse is far from town- it's a 3 minute drive or a 15 minute downhill walk- for most people I don't think the location would be an issue. We felt perfectly comfortable walking back after dark- the area felt very safe and secure. Maison D'Ail is a charming property with a homely relaxed atmosphere.|We were aarmly welcomed by Julie and showed us our spaciuos rooms. Julie ordered a taxi so we got to our wine tram appointment.|Our vehicles were safely parked on the premises with additional space on the quiet road that is Reservoir Street.|Breakfast was served on the veranda, the choice of fruit and cold meats was a delight.
