Petit & Grande Plaisir Self Catering Accommodations — Hotel in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

We had a two day stay during a few sunny days in winter.

The accommodation is situated in a quiet part of town, but only a few blocks from the main street. Secure, off street parking is provided.

The host is genial and helpful and live next door, The accommodation is beautifully appointed and very homely. Everythng is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is the best equiped we have ever had in self catering accommodation. The interior decoration is very nice and linen and towels of high quality.

We had a lovely stay and we felt safe while we were there. The kindness and interest of the host is appreciated.

A number of food and drink items were generously provided. Sherry, fruit, coffee, tee, fresh milk etc. Also salt, pepper and some herbs for cooking and dish washing liquid. So many establishments do not provide this.

We did not use the pool or outdoor braai, but loved the indoor stove for heating. We prepared simple meals which we enjoyed in front of the fire in our slippers. And the complimentary bottle of wine...

Booking this accommodation was one of the best choices we made for our trip to South Africa. It was a cosy haven in a wet, blustery winter visit. We loved the decor, the large amount of space, the privacy, the comfortable bed, the combustion wood heater, the big double shower, the homemade treats and welcome wine. ||The common pool area looked great for summer with a pizza oven and sun lounges.|We found it a pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre of town with plenty of restaurants and shopping to keep you amused (and full!).||The host, Marlicia, was very helpful both prior to and during our stay - my husband hurt his back, and she recommended a physiotherapist (who sorted him out), and I was ill with a stomach bug, and she ensured I had enough wood for the fire and offered to find me a doctor if needed.|If I am lucky enough to return to South Africa, I will be booking here again. What a wonderful house this is and the location is brilliant, just a 10 minute walk into the heart of Franschhoek. Staying here, you have the best of both worlds - the privacy and freedom of self catering but the benefit of on-site staff that help with housekeeping and looking after the gardens. The braii and pizza oven are fabulous, the pool was clean and the house was absolutely pristine, with a really well stocked kitchen for home catering. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to anybody looking for a relaxing time out of the city. The outside area is shared but there's more than enough space and privacy; if anything, it was lovely to have some neighbours to chat to over morning coffee.
