We recently stayed here for two nights as part of our honeymoon. The guest house itself is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful design and modern rooms. The pillows were some of the best I’ve ever slept on.||However, there were a few significant drawbacks. Firstly, there was no bottled water provided in the room after the first day and towels weren’t changed during our stay. The WiFi was also disappointing, with very poor coverage that didn’t reach most parts of our room or other areas of the guest house.||Unfortunately, we had a serious issue when we accidentally lost our room and safe key. Upon returning to the guesthouse around 9:30pm, we tried contacting the manager and the out-of-hours emergency number multiple times but received no response. With no other options, we had to climb over the wall and through our window (which, luckily, had been left ajar). We sent a text to explain the situation, but again, there was no reply. The next morning, I had to track down a staff member who advised she had just been made aware of the issue (though no acknowledgement from the manager) and had to call a locksmith to help us access our room safe. We were left with a significant bill to change the locks because they had no spare keys nor updated safes (with number coding) and also from reporting the issue at 9:30pm it took until 13:00 the next day for the locksmith to turn up.||While I fully acknowledge that losing the key was our fault, the lack of a contactable emergency service was deeply concerning. It made me question what would have happened in a more serious situation.||Overall, the guest house offers a stunning aesthetic and comfortable rooms but could greatly improve its service and facilities to match the expectations...
Read moreWell, well, well. We had an absolute wonderful stay at Mirabelle guesthouse. The staff are all amazing and gave such great service from the moment we arrived. Mirabelle is like a home away from home and we felt like royalty staying here. The beds were very comfortable and we had the best sleep every night, it's quiet and so relaxing, very safe and walking into town was pleasant, safe and only took us about 10 to 15 minutes walk right to the high street with many world class restaurants. Our room had a double shower, this was absolutely enjoyed by us everyday. The pool and pool area was lovely, just chilling there with a glass of wine, coffee or just a book was simply bliss. We loved the Breakfast, as we stayed there for 6 days, I made a point of trying all the hot breakfast that was on offer, and my favourite was the omelette. Nicely prepared and just enough. There's also a continental spread. The owners came round one day during breakfast to have a chat and it was so lovely to chat with them, made us feel so very welcome and appreciated. I give Mirabelle a 10/10 for service, comfort and making our holiday a fabulous one. We will most certainly return when back in Franschhoek, our stay was...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at Mirabelle Franschheok in November 2023 for two nights.
The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was so comfortable and it was very quiet so we had a great nights sleep.
The ladies that work there were so lovely, friendly, polite and helpful. They very kindly did some laundry for us which was such a huge help and I am really greatful for that.
Another thing to note that was on the day of check-in, my husband felt very unwell. We drove from Hermanus to Franscheok where he was sick along the way. Check- in time at Mirabell wasn't until 2:00pm and we arrived in Franscheok at 1:00pm. My father-in- law and I asked the ladies if we could check in early as my husband had been sick. They very kindly allowed us to. I am very greatful for that as it meant my husband could rest in bed rather than hand around in the car for an extra hour feeling terrible. A lot of places would have been awkward about an early...
