Orange Ville Guesthouse sits on a large property with meticulously kept, very pretty grounds with a big lawn, two pools and wonderful trees and shrubs teeming with bird life. The place is run by owners Hardy and Steffi who are very competent and super helpful with all kinds of tips and suggestions. Rooms are pretty and spacious, every room has a terrace in front and behind. All kinds of very cool electronic gadgetry is provided: Excellent WiFi throughout, remote control light switches and dimmers, remote control ceiling fan, Philips mood light, great television service including Netflix etc. ||A lot of the electricity for the place comes from own solar panels, which we think is very commendable. ||Bathroom has a very large tub (but we only used the shower cabin). ||The whole place is close to the village of Kylemore, and is wonderfully quiet at night. All kinds of walking and jogging opportunities, wonderful countryside in every direction. Keeping in mind that this is a 4 Star Facility, it is extremely disappointing that they do not have back-up power during Loadshedding, but even worse that there is also no water during Loadshedding 😡. The rooms are automated to the point that it is extremely difficult to operate even the aircon. The money spent on these automation installations could much rather be spent on getting the basics, like power and water sorted out first🧐. The rooms are also not 4 star - the bathroom walls are black with mildew and woodwork in the rooms (doors and windows) needs serious attention!
