We recently stayed at Graskop Hotel for a few nights and found this a very good place and relaxing hotel in Graskop.
The hotel has a bit of a colonial period and game lodge decor and feel. Lobby seating room is classy, there is a nice restaurant and bar to enjoy an evening drink. You will also find swimming pool and an secure enclosed parking area. There are staff on site at all hours and a good feeling of safety, security and relaxation.
Location is within walking distance to several very good restaurants and a short drive to adventure activities like the Graskop Gorge Lift Co. as well as sights along the Panorama Route north of Graskop.
Our room was spacious and quite comfortable. Decor was nice, bed large and cozy enough. TV, A/C, wifi, kettle, hair dryer and fridge all worked perfectly. It was a good room to settle into after days out sightseeing. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast that came with room reservation as well as a couple of evening in the bar watching Euro 2020 matches while enjoying local Pinotage.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable stay and place we would gladly return to during future...

The room themselves had many things that I found to be uncomfortable: the blinds aren't really making the room dark if you're used to sleeping in a pitch black environment, everytime someone opens the shower you'll hear a lot of noise from the pipes, the bed is very hard, and the interior decor is old and the pillows have lumps. The floor is creaking.
You'll hear the motorcycles speeding up from the street and that could wake you up.
The food could significantly improve. Almost no vegetables, the toaster barely works, no espresso just filter coffee and no non lactose milk. Everything runs out fast and you need to ask for a refill. Food feels recycled from last night's dinner.
On out first night we had a blackout because of the load shedding in the garden room, and we didn't have any flashlights in the room. Was a scary experience to find the front desk.
Other than that the people at the front...

After a disastrous experience elsewhere, arriving at Graskop Hotel was an absolute relief. The staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely cared that guests were comfortable. The hotel has real character — stylish, quirky art everywhere, but still spotless and welcoming.
The rooms are spacious, well-kept, and properly equipped with everything you need. The beds are comfortable, the showers are great, and the Wi-Fi actually works. Breakfast was generous and fresh, with proper coffee and a relaxed atmosphere.
The location’s perfect for exploring God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon, and all the nearby waterfalls, and it feels safe and easy to get around.
After a rough travel day, this place restored my faith in South African hospitality. Highly...
