Rivertain hotel is located only a few hundred meters from the walking street area. ||They call it a business hotel. It is not a small family run place, it is a huge hotel with lots of rooms.||||While it is a nice place, there are severe shortcomings. ||||First of all, despite being a business hotel in the third biggest city of Korea, actually nobody at the frontdesk can speak or understand English on a basic level. Communication is really hard, need translation software for everything.||||Despite being a business hotel, no business facilities are offered.||||Also, there is almost no English TV channel, no CNN, almost no other western channels besides CNBC and the rubbish Chinese "CGTN English" government propaganda channel.||||The other problem is how they handle the laundry. Initially you might believe the hotel offers a laundry service. You pack the bag and carry it down to the front desk. They'll inform you that it will take unbelievable 3 days to get it back!!!||Then a pickup driver comes and brings it away to a laundry company. About 3 days later they start calling your room to come down, the delivery guy waits with your laundry to get paid! Being a business hotel they should actually know that people are not sitting on their rooms but are usually out for work...They ask you to leave your credit card at the front desk so that they can use it to pay your m laundry bill to the delivery guy!||Cannot put that ridiculously small bill on the room?? Complicated and inconverient for hotel guests. Finally I could convince them, I only can come in the evening to pay. ||||How on earth is that a business hotel, when everything is dealt with in such unprofessional ways?||||Next thing is the breakfast. Every day same. Limited choices. If you stay multiple weeks, you will start hating it.||||A bathroom scale is not available, not just on your VIP room not, but the entire f*ckn hotel has not a single one, can't even borrow for a minute! Come on what is that?? Samsung high tech cloth drying machine but no scale?||||Luckily the hotel has highlights too.||||The VIP room has a really large balcony with furniture to sit outside. Very nice! The room size it not huge but not small too. The bathroom has a huge whirlpool bath tub good for 2 people, the toilet is automated.||What I particularly like is that there are two doors, the entrance door to your room and behind it there is a second door, so you don't feel exposed even if staff would enter.||||There is also the mentioned cloths drying machine, a nice to have.||||All in all it is a good place with avoidable shortcomings caused by thoughtlessness and severe lack of professionality just in any aspect.||||Let professionals take care of the hotel management and the hotel will improve...
Read moreHotel is relatively new, small but cozy. The hotel building is not visible from the main road as it is nestled among the shops along a quiet street. It would take a while to navigate the direction from the subway station(Jungangno station exit 3) to the hotel. It took us a couple of days before we got familiar with the route to the various bus stops and subway stations. However, the hotel is within walking distance to the main shopping streets although aren't many restaurants in the vicinity. There are quite a number of bakeries though. ||There room is very spacious and the bed is comfortable. The dry cleaning machine in the room is a plus point if one wish to do some laundry during their stay. The only drawback of this hotel is that there is no place to hang clothes in the bathroom and there was also no door to the shower area. As mentioned by other reviewers, the design of the shower area with no curbs and partition is not practical at all. I would come back again as the hotel staff are generally friendly and helpful but I would request for a room with bathroom door the...
Read moreWe travelled from Busan to Daegu by train. From Daegu Station to the hotel takes about 8 minutes walking. ||We got pretty clear indications from the reviewers that the bath room design is annoying. It is true and not that bad. The more frustrating things are the temperature and light control. ||It was about 10 degree at night. Normally, if we turn off the aircon and leave the window open a bit. It would be very comfortable. However, the heat from the floor (automatically on) make the room hot. The pull out window does not have a width control. It can bang in and out by the wind. We had no choice by turned on the aircon. However, the indication light shine right on your eyes. And it was so noisy.||The room is dark. However, the bed is right under the half high window. Early in the morning, the light through the half high curtain shine on your eyes again.||Fortunately we only spent 2 nights there. We felt like we didn't...
