The entrance to the hotel is very impressive, including the lobby. Parking is closed to the hotel, free parking with good accessibility. The direct path to honeymoon coffee is great. However, we were not even received with information page on hotel facilities such as opening time for gym or pool or even information on WiFi (which was free), or expected checkout time. We were hosted in the second floor. The corridor is not maintained well with some holes and scratches on the walls. In addition, the photos presented in Booking prior reservation are misleading. The standard room is too small for a couple - we didn't have enough place to open two baggages. The facilities of the room are very old and not maintained well. The cleaning level is medium.

This hotel is in a good central location. The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained. I could have spent the entire trip there. The rooms and the hotel itself are a bit dated but didnโ€™t seem old. Everything was clean, well maintained and everything you would expect. The Palor Suite was extremely spacious and the bed comfortable but it was the views that were phenomenal. We could see the squid catches out every night while overlooking the garden. The staff are experienced, friendly and always willing to help. I was a bit sad the the pool didnโ€™t have water in it as it was not the right season for outdoor pools. Overall, would definitely come back.

- Scenic and some rooms have a beach facing balcony - We were lucky to get one such room - The hotel has a running track around the lawn which was the best thing for me - Four stars given only for the location. This is located exactly on the opposite direction of Jeju airport. So will take you around 45 - 60 minutes to reach this place. - The hotel has a waterfalls nearby at a walking distance. Do visit that too if you have time. Edit: Got to know that there is one more KAL hotel near the airport. So changed the review ratings.

I stayed at this hotel in the context of a three-days event. Whilst the hotel looks old from the outside, it is well designed from the inside (I assume that it has to be renewed at some point). To make a long story short, my stay was good, although it was in general a bit expensive for what I got. I am not sure one can really qualify the hotel as a five-star one. Four may be better (I thus agree with some of the other recent comments).||||Staff: The staff (at the reception, the breakfast team or the cleaning team) was very friendly and helpful, always smiling. One feels really welcome in this place.||||Room: I had a room at the second floor with a view on the see. The room was very spacious and clean. While I was alone, my room contained both a double bed and a single bed, a small corner with a table in front of the terrasse and an office space (I was able to work without any problem). The Internet was pretty good (and this is true for the entire hotel by the way). The only annoying thing is the light in the entrance that was automatically switching itself on when passing not too far (i.e. every time I needed to go to the bathroom). I did not find the way to switch this off. The bathroom was clean and correct (quite standard, but not really reaching a five-star level).||||Food: The breakfast buffet was a nice admixture between Korean-style dishes and Western-style dishes. My only complain is the price (as breakfast was not included in the room fee). It is very (very very) expensive for what one gets. Lunches and dinner were nice and of a very good quality. Again, probably a little bit pricy.||||Surroundings: I enjoyed running in the hotel garden every morning (there is a nice jogging trail in there), that is also a very pleasant place just to stay, enjoy the view to the sea (or to the internal pond) and relax. The outdoor swimming pool was unfortunately closed (too early in the season) and the indoor one was really small for a hotel of this class (it is somehow a big bath tube and one cannot really swim in there).||||**Overall: To sum up, I mildly recommend the place. If I have to come back to Jeju, I will most probably try...

Selected by our tour company as a 4* hotel, we left the Seogwipo KAL Hotel with mixed feelings. Read on for details.||||Located in a quiet area of Seogwipo, the KAL overlooks the ocean and offers rooms with a great view, which we had. The room has some nice design features (dresser, desk, lighting) but is dated/worn in some areas (curtains in the bathroom instead of glass.) One plus were the number of electrical outlets (including U.S. style plugs) and a pair of USB plugs by each side of the bed. ||||The beds were stiff and uncomfortable and the pillows thin and soft. One really annoying feature: the motion activated light by the entry illuminates the room which will happen if anyone gets up in the night and walks near the bathroom. The fitness center was not included in our room rate, something I found to be annoying/insulting, having to shell out another $9/day per person.||||The breakfast buffet was extensive with an array of foods catering to Western and Eastern cultures. There was a push-button coffee maker that provided a solid cup of cappuccino. The baked good section was weak with the "chocolate bread" a weak offering but reflective of the lack of dessert culture in this part of the world.||||I rated this hotel as 3 stars; it probably deserves a 3.5 but the fitness center fee and uncomfortable beds were...
