Toyoko Inn Seoul Gangnam — Hotel in Seoul

This review comes as comparison with 3 other hotels we stayed in Korea and i jave to say tokoyo comes 1st on our list. Pros: Room average spacious but we were able to have 2 suitcases open during our stay (1 was under the bed) toiletries provided (you get a skin care set at reception - i literally have no need to use my creams and lotions) shower gel and shampoo conditioner did not leave my hair dry or knotty so that is a bonus. laundy services at resonable prices ( 2000won washing, 1000won dryer ± 500won detergent) they have a vending machine at reception with other toiletriea( sanitary pads, toothbrush, toothpaste) and snacks if you feel peckish and too lazy to step outside where the offer is unlimited Breakfast: one of the best i had, traditional korean/asian dishes, they vary certain dishes througout the days so there is always something new to try (i always had the marinated egg - my little routine which i severely missed for the rest of my stay in korea. unlimited water supply from the lobby dispenser ± 2 waters per day location: although Gangnam is more business fwd area the subway gives you access to main areas ± buses impecable housekeeping (they even arranged my plushy in a very comfy and must i say majestic position) you could borrow some cute long dress pijama in case you did not have your own ( they did remind me a bit of hospital gowns but hey they did their job - to note: you are not allowed to use slippers or pj robe in the breakfast area.)

Cons: no waredrobe, just 3-4 hangers AC was hard to adjust not to blow directly into your face/head (woke up with puffy face several times) No gym or restaurant or bar (adding at cons in case that is what you are looking for, but for me this was not an issue)

Overall i highly recomment tokoyo! Value for money. Curious to try their other hotels...

It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk from Gangnam Subway Station, so the limousine bus is recommended for transportation from the airport. The limousine bus stop (Remian Apartments) is right nearby. Number 6009 is currently not eligible for advance reservations through Conest etc., so you will need to purchase it at the airport. You can buy it at a kiosk (vending machine), but I couldn't find Remian Apartment in a Japanese search, so I bought it at a manned sales counter. The prices are the same, credit cards are accepted, and many people can speak basic Japanese, so purchasing is easy. You can use your transportation card to get to the airport at the stop, so be sure to charge it with at least W17,000.I took various measures to prevent bed bugs (putting all my belongings, including my suitcase, in large garbage bags, and sleeping with the lights on at night), but nothing special happened.When I got back to the hotel in the middle of the night, the moment it suddenly brightened from pitch black, I looked everywhere in the bed, but nothing came out. Although individuals should be cautious, the hotel is clean and relatively safe.There are restaurants nearby where you can eat alone and chain restaurants where you can take out, so there's no need to worry if you're hungry after you get home!I only had breakfast before returning home because I had something else I wanted to eat, but the porridge was more delicious than I expected.LOL Although there isn't much variety, there are fruits (mandarin oranges) and salad, so I tend to lack fresh vegetables. It was a smooth check in, just keep in mind it starts at 4 pm, so, if you arrive early, you need to wait. early check in is not possible. |Hotel reception was very helpful. It was just a little hard to communicate with some of them due to language. However they did their best and we understood each other at the end through google translate :). During check in I was given a daily facial cleaning products testers:)|In front of check in desk, there is a shelf where you can get amenities like coffee, cream, tea, hair brush, soap etc. There is a locker as well if you need pajamas. I did not ask but you can check with reception. ||Daily cleaning of the room is upon request. Otherwise clean towels and bottle of water is being left in front of the door daily. And regular cleaning and changing sheets is, if I remember correctly the 4th day of your stay. Its good for protecting environment though. |Room was very clean. The space was bigger than I expected. You can control the room temperature. And there is kettle and coffee cups available in the room. ||It has daily free breakfast. Breakfast was not what I am used to as a European, but was very tasty warm food to start a day. Soup, rice, and many other Korean food in addition to some bread jam butter etc. I liked it. |The only improvement can be done to the elevators as they work individually.
