Sadly I had the worst buying experience of my life. In my specific case they have been literally the OPPOSITE of an Apple Store experience… The experience was SO BAD that I’m taking time to write this… I went to purchase a flagship phone, no contracts or anything complex, just the phone unlocked, payed upfront in full, that is about 2.5MW… anyways, they didn’t care about anything and almost felt like they didn’t want me there. After just 3 minutes checking the phone I said ok I’m going to take it but I need an invoice as I’m paying it through my company. They told me they can’t because I need a Korean number, which I have, an ARC which I have, a Korean bank account which I have, a Korean card which I have and the Korean company business registration which I have… so… begrudgingly they said… ok and someone else came to do “the paper work”. That person seemed to be upset to have to handle the bureaucratic work so she entered a ton of my data and then the system said error talk to the manager. I asked her and she said nononono we can’t sell you the phone sorry bye. I was… WOW!! Like I’m used to sellers trying to upsell me everything but not the opposite where they actually don’t want me there… what just happened? This reflects VERY POORLY on the brand… UPDATE: went back to the store with a Korean friend and we got taken care by the floor manager, a young man who was diligent and committed to help out and he did so am thankful for him and my friend. Upped from 1 star to 4 star because of the young man and the amazing help of...
Read moreWhat a story for me. I was traveling Asia from Hollywood, CA. My poor S23 Ultra was battered and broken from years of use lol. My phone broke 2 days before visiting Seoul and I subsequently lost my wallet due to having shallow pockets. The very first thing I did in Seoul was head to the Samsung store in Gangnam. I wish I could name names because I had the best help EVER. I always buy the flagship phone so I asked and was directed, very politely, to the appropriate floor of this beautiful store. I explained to the associate that I broke my phone but had a U.S. Sim. I popped in the Sim but the phone had no signal. He sat with me for close to an hour troubleshooting the issue going above and beyond his duties. In the end, he got me set up...a frazzled and distressed traveler. And now I have the best souvenir of my life, a Samsung directly from Seoul ❤️ By the way, it was my actual birthday when I bought the...
Read moreI visited the store on Friday 18th August with the intention of buying a new phone. Little did I know that I'd be walking out with the newest phone available - the Galaxy Z Flip5 - which I had no interest in until I actually handled it and spoke to consultants about it! I received some FANTASTIC help and service from Hoon (조훈), who was fluent in English (and reportedly Japanese) and was very patient with me when I asked questions about the phone and the accessories I was interested in buying.
The store itself is also really nice, but I sadly didn't have enough time to fully explore all the floors (though I visited all of them). I wish I had more time in Gangnam that day to look at all the exciting things on offer, especially on the top floor. I coincidentally stumbled upon a pop-up store down the road at LGU+ which let me play with the Flip5 a little more after...
