Residencial Casablanca Casa Azahar — Hotel in Alcalà de Xivert

The timing of a recent business trip to Catalonia meant flying into Valencia rather than Reus and so it was decided to look for a Hotel if possible midway between the Airport and our appointments. We chose the Apartment based on flexibility and value for money and were not disappointed. The keys are collected from the Hotel Jeremias about 5 minutes walk away (something which Booking.com neglected to inform us although other booking sites does have this 'key' information) and the Receptionist waited beyond her hours as we were later than expected because of the absence of this information.||The 2 bedroomed apartment was clean, spacious and the kitchen very well equipped with a 4 hotplates and an oven as well as the 'customary' microwave. The fridge/freezer was a decent size and the apartment we were in had the benefit of a washing machine.||The balcony was very large, had an awning and looked out onto the beach over well tended gardens and the swimming pool. ||The other Residents seemed to be a real mix with Spanish, German/Austrian and I heard some french being spoken. My only disappointment was that I was only there 2 nights when a week would have been a minimum to enjoy the facilities...

So the holiday was a cheap deal, not all cheap deals are bad right? This was is!||Where do I start!||1. No information about where to get key on love holidays website. Having to walk 20 minutes uphill to another hotel to collect the key.||2. No checking in information anywhere to be told at this other hotel that check in is not int 5pm maybe 4pm depending on cleaners.||3. No clear signs as to where to find the apartment unless it is on the front downstairs.||4. First view of the living area/kitchen okay but basic sort of expected.||||What I did not expect after having to wait so many hours to check in because of cleaners to walk in to the bathroom looking like it hasn’t been cleaned in a very long time. Beds are so basic not very comfy but okay for just somewhere to sleep. Very disappointed upon first entering the apartments and knew straight away I would not be returning.||||Pool is lovely but that is the only good thing.||||Would not recommend to anyone, don’t...

FOR Excellent apartment, just a little dated. The apartment is reasonably well equipped with oven, hob, micro, fridge freezer and washing machine. Very clean on arrival. Air conditioning very fast and effective over all areas. Always clean hot water. Large private balcony. No road or other noises when patio doors closed. 30 meters to beach from garden gate. Fantastic sea view from our 4th floor. Lovely clean swimming pool and well kept garden.|Slow 20 minute walk into town or 10 minutes to nearest restaurants. 2 lifts to all floors. Full balcony sun shade. ||AGAINST There is wifi but in our room 405C it was only really effective on the balcony. Toilet does not always flush too well. Old style TV and only Spanish channels.
