I rang up the hostal on the day to book a room, they had one available and booked me in. I was coming down the south coast by bike and wasn't going to be arriving until late, they said this would be fine. ||||When I arrived at 9pm I was greeted by an extremely rude lady who told me there was no room. I explained who I was and that they had booked me in over the phone. The lady said that as I had not arrived by 8pm they could not check me in. ||||I spoke to another man who was running the hostal and it turns out that they had in fact sold the room to somebody else as I hadn't turned up by 8pm. On the phone I told them it would be 8.30pm at the earliest as I was travelling a long way.||||They then gave me the details of another hostel, which was the most disgusting place, two and a half kilometers away, in a run down area where you would not want to spend any amount of time.||||Absolutely disgusting service and shocking that they are willing to sell off rooms even when they know they have people coming.||||Good luck to all those thinking of booking...
Read moreI arrived on an early flight and I was able to book in at midday, the room was cool, the bed comfy, and just a few minutes from the station, which was perfect, as I was needing buses every day. Very clean. If you don't want to walk to the centre for food and drinks, there is an excellent, smart tapas bar just nearby, on the way to the station. Good wi-fi in the room. Bathroom a bit old fashioned, nowhere to attach showerhead on the wall, so that could be improved.||Unfortunately there was no lift (although I did like the keep fit notices up the stairs!), so for me with a big suitcase, that was a bit annoying, and nobody offered to help. Seemed to be a sort of breakfast possibility in the passage by the entrance, very basic, but nobody explained it, however, there's a cafe next door. Price was correct, although I stayed in a much nicer hostel for less in Almunecar the...
Read moreThis is a very basic budget hotel. One big advantage is that it's very close to the combined bus/train station. It's a 15 - 20 minute walk to the historical city. The first impression of this hotel is very depressing. The reception area is behind a locked cage !!!! So when I arrived, I felt like I was in one of those very cheap, flea-bag hotels I used to stay in when I was much younger in rough parts of American cities. The two people I dealt with at reception were very pleasant - but speak virtually no English. The room was not very welcoming either - very basic décor. But it's clean. The bathroom is pretty small. The windows in the two rooms I saw were both frosted, so you can only look outside if you open them.||||This is a very basic (but clean) hotel. I found it expensive for...
