Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 3 nights in October 16 and it was a very enjoyable stay.
We picked this place because of its modern decor and fair pricing. We chose to pay more for breakfast included but we were very disappointed by the breakfast. It was mostly pastry which I cannot eat a lot of because I suffer from IBS and pastry is a trigger. The half of a pastry I tried tasted like it had been out for a while and there wasn't much else that we would have eaten. We went to breakfast on the first morning and then made alternativr arrangements for the remainder of the holiday. I should have made a complaint and asked for a refund but I totally forgot with how busy we were throughout the holiday.
The room itself was lovely and spotlessly clean. A very comfortable stay.
The location is a little out of the way of the city itself but is only about a 10 minute walk from the nearest metro and very easy to get to.
There is a shopping centre over the road from the metro station which has some good food outlets and shops. The magic fountain is also about a 5 minute walk from the metro and again easy to find.
The metro is very efficient, runs extremely frequently and is very easy to navigate. If you are wasting to explore a lot then a T10, T20 or T50 card would be beneficial as this allows the number of journeys listed. In the 3 days we were there I think we took about 40 journeys between us.
There is a bus that goes directly to the airport near the metro stop and is a reasonble price.
Some of our holiday highlights were the gothic quatre, the markets and RO. MAGNA, a little (literally but give it a go) down near the gothic quatre, great food and service. La Sagrada de Familia, the aquarium and gaudi Park (Park guell)
Overall an enjoyable stay apart from the breakfast. We would definitely stay here again because of the price but without the...
Read moreWe chose this hotel, a more expensive option, due to the rooftop pool. I asked before booking if the pool would be open when we visited in April. It was confirmed that it was certainly open. I was disappointed when we arrived to find it was not open and was being refurbished. The hotel have refused a partial refund despite saying it was open which feels unreasonable. The safe in the room was not working when we arrived. I was told that the staff were busy with lots of jobs, I was pleased that it had been sorted when we returned from a full day out. I think reception staff attitudes could be more friendly to guests, it would be nice to be more polite, say hello, and how can I help? One morning I was just met with a look! The rooms not cleaned in our 5 night stay we asked for clean towels and extra loo roll which we were provided. The room was spacious we appreciated the two bedrooms and sofa bed in lounge. Kitchen was equipped with pots pans and there was also an ironing board and iron in the cupboard. It would be great to have hooks in bathroom for towels as nowhere to hang anything. Another mirror other than the single room wardrobe and bathroom mirror would be good. But this is because four girls trying to get ready meant was quite tricky. Balcony was big with a clothes maiden. The area was quiet and no problem sleeping well. The location was 5/6 min walk to metro station. We bought the multi journey cards and got around easily from the station. If you can use the tube in London you won’t have any issues here everything is well signed, so much easier cheaper and quicker than the bus. Two days of our stay we used the tourist bus which seemed to be having some problems, lots of furious customers at bus stops waiting for buses that were at capacity. I think some roadworks/demonstrations...
Read moreWe have just arrived home after a wonderful trip to Barcelona! We stayed at the BCN Montjuic as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 9 & 7) we had a family room. After arriving at the airport we took a taxi to the hotel (around 24 euros) and arrived to a very warm welcome from the reception team, check in was efficient and we went to our lovely family room, the room itself has everything you need and it’s extremely clean. We had a sofa bed for the two children and two single beds together for the adults, the beds were very comfortable with crisp white bedsheets and comfortable pillows, there was a small kitchen area with a fridge and a very modern and clean bathroom with fluffy white towels. The air conditioning was also very efficient, the only downside (which was my mistake) is I wished I had booked a balcony. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, served in the lovely breakfast room, plenty of fresh options, always topped up and a different variety each day, the breakfast staff worked very hard and were lovely and friendly. The hotel also had a rooftop pool and a outside area with seating but we found this was closed early (around 10pm each night) the only downside for the hotel for us is there was no bar, so after a long day exploring the city there was no where to get a cold drink. The hotel itself is a 10 minute walk to the local metro and you can pick up the hop on hop off tour bus again a 10 minute walk from the hotel (which I thoroughly recommend) we decided on the way back to the airport to take the underground and we wished we had just taken a taxi as it’s quite a way on the underground and costs just as much and a taxi would of been easier. Thank you for a...
