I have just returned from a 4 night break in this hotel arrived Sunday 9th Feb, I arrived at 12.20pm and as I had emailed prior to arrival to let them know (check in is 4pm) they kindly had a room available for me. I got room 204 and check in was average, the guy on reception was friendly, so was the girl working a couple of nights, the other staff were pleasant. The room sees little sun (ask for a room facing Tommys Bar or the sea) through the day, maybe because of the time of year. It has a balcony, 2 chairs and a table, the room was very clean and the hotel enforced all the current covid measures including gloves at breakfast. Breakfast was OK, but get there before 9.45am as they will be clearing everything away by them.||There is a nice pool area, the pool was closed as it is out of season, the sunbeds were one position only and they would do better with adjustable ones. It was nice and quiet and hot enough to sunbathe, there may have been a sun terrace but the steps were chained off||The room has a safe, cost me 6 euros for the 4 nights a bargain compared to some places, although I believe all hotels should provide a digital free safe to save carrying a key out with you.||The bed was comfy and clean and I slept well, plenty blankets, air con too or temperature to adjust. The TV (small wall mounted) has one English station ( I couldn't care less, but some of you may have kids) and that was News Francais in English. No fridge which is a shame, plenty storage space for me nd would have been enough should two people be using the room. Toiletries provided, the bathroom has a hairdryer in there too, but I am bald so no idea how good it was. The shower was plenty powerful and good hot water||I believe the hotel caters mainly for the Spanish who think nothing of gathering and chatting in the restaurant at breakfast despite a queue behind them or if they are blocking access to the breakfast. There are 2 coffee, juice and toast stations but you may have to wait a while for the toaster, it seemed popular.||To get here I took the ALSA bus from Airport to Avenida Europa at 9.8 euros one way and it is a five minute walk. There are buses every hour I would expect there to be more than that in summer and the journey is approx 50 minutes. You can buy tickets I paid on the bus itself, departs from the 2nd floor far right of departures||Plenty small shops nearby and the beach and bars are a 5 minute walk.||On the front beware the potato men scamming you with the find the lady trick and their accomplices winning everytime to make it look easy (if you pick the right one they squeeze the potato and the pea sticks inside so when they lift it, it isn't there) and picking pockets or bags, the other scam is the friendship bracelet someone ties on your wrist then demands money and wont leave you till they have something from you, not seen this recently on my travels, the last time being Rome a few years ago||Room, clean, good size, comfy bed, safe, no fridge, balcony, TV||Staff, nice and friendly||Pool, nice clean area||Covid, taken very seriously||Cleaning, daily I think||Entertainment, there is a list of evens throughout the day pinned on the noticeboard||Breakfast, average, but mainly catering to continental and not the Brits||Populatiion in Hotel, mainly Spanish, think I was the only English person but please don't be put off, they were very friendly and always greeted me when passing||Value, at £35 per night it was excellent and I travel alone so for me that is a good price||Overall, great stay and would definitely use this Hotel when I next...
Read moreThe rest of my stay is completely forgotten about as the breakfast left me so angry that I cannot comment on anything else. Breakfast is served between 8-10am so as I wanted to eat late I went down at 9:40, plenty of time to get my food and even go back for seconds if required. Or so I thought. I found the breakfast room but nobody was there to seat me. I waited. And waited, and then decided that I may as well seat myself. I did the customary lap to find where everything was then returned to where the drinks were served. A good scout around found that there were no coffee cups so there was a wait for those then a queue had formed for coffee. I then went to get my juice, again, no glasses, so I had to wait once more - I actually had to chase down a staff member who was carrying a few before I could pour my drink. I then hunted out my plate (as nobody was there to show where things were kept) and then returned to the food trays to get my breakfast only to find that it was now just 10:00 and everything had been rushed away. I spoke to staff who explained that it was now 10:00 so I could not possibly get any food! When I pointed out that a mere minute before there were at least 20 eggs and half a tray of beans sitting there she begrudgingly asked a server who simply said "no". There is absolutely no way that this food could have been disposed of in the time it took me to find a plate! The staff must have seen me trying to locate cups/glasses/plate and known full well that I had not yet eaten but they made zero effort to help me or to warn me that the food was being removed the second that it reached 10:00. This was completely unacceptable, especially being as there were maybe as little as 3 tables occupied by this time and I was only delayed due to the lack of efficiency of the hotel staff. I left hungry and furious so the score is appropriate for...
