camping pitch with a motor home, 2 adults and 2 children for 7 nights in Aug 2019.||||arrived before standard check-in time but nota problem, speedy check -in and a young man on a bike escorted us around to the camping area and then it was a case of pick you own pitch so any empty pitch is an option. the main issue with this for this site is that although very flat the pitches often have trees in awkward places and some of them are better suited to tents for this reason so although. handful of pitches were empty we didn't really have a free choice due to some poorly positioned trees making it impossible to get the Moho on the pitch. other campers had also spread outa n used empty pitches to park their cars on so the young lad said if we wanted one of those pitches he'd have to find out who owned the cars to get them moved.||The pitches are in uniform row which means your basically facing another family all the time.||the sanitary blocks were very big, plenty of toilets and showers and plenty of hot water even at busy times day. always managed to get a shower, although one day there was a group of French girls holding a number of showers but stood talking in the middle, much busier and this would've caused a problem.||There were a few occasions where kids were causing issues around the sanitary block, one evening as I headed for a shower a group of French children were throwing water bombs at each other, no problem, kids having fun... until they started throwing them over the cubicles into the shower as I was getting dry !!! on another evening I went to the toilet and a group of French girls were turning the taps on at the wall that the cleaners used, spraying a flood of water all over the floor. ||Children aside the sanitary blocks were very clean.||the pool area is great, lovely and clean. although it says no smoking there were a few people ignoring it and nothing was said by staff. plenty of sunbeds even mid afternoon.||The entertainment in the evening is very loud, we could hear everything clearly and were a good distance away. It didn't go off until 1 am each day so definitely needed the ear plugs.||Plenty to do off sit, beach is only a short walk away and plenty of bars and...
Read moreOn arrival check in was fairly painless and allow you to park outside the chalet at all times. ||We are now on day four of a seven day stay at camping Solmar. As the title says there are flies everywhere, the constant flicking and killing them could be a constant chore.||We are in a chalet and it’s smaller than what it looks on the photos when you book. Mattress appears about 15 years old and offers no support at all. Another big miss with the accommodation is air conditioning, there is none at all. With the inside of the chalet looking like a Swedish sauna, it appears to get just a hot during the day. We arrived to the chalet smelling over very strong glue, where it looks like a rip in the lino has been repaired very recently.||Pool is cold and salty on entry, but when it’s very hot it’s a welcome relief. There are ample sun beds for everyone who appeared to want them and I didn’t see too many people rushing down early in the morning to reserve their sun beds as the pool area is not open until 10am.||There is a handy supermarket near to reception, was quite expensive, 15 Euro for a bottle of suntan lotion was very steep. There is a Lidl about 10 minutes away with prices very similar to England. If you have a car this is the place to go.||Entertainment is quite minimal, two sessions of pool activities, one at 10.30am and one around 5pm. The activity staff seem to try hard but seem to stand back quite often. Evening entertainment is very poor, twice we had the same guy strumming a guitar singing some old rock songs. Best entertainment was the carnival band playing in the children’s procession.||There is a wide mix of nationalities here, but everyone seems to keep themselves to themselves, after visiting a few hotels in Spain I know that usually people chat with each other, but not here.||In the local community there is a lot of closed shops, this was a surprise considering that its height of season. ||Over all this is ok, but for 900 odd euro I had hoped for a bit more, looks like we are back to a hotel...
Read moreDON'T GO THERE!!!!!!! WARNING!!!!!! We went to Apartaments Solmar for family holidays in August and after few days somebody broke in to our apartment and we got robbed!!!!!! We weren't the only people who got robbed there but also few more apartaments. We heard from the local police that this is happening every year there!!!!!!!!!! And Solmar doesn't have any insurance to cover our huge lost, they stolen our expensive equipment and all cash from the room and they didn't help us at all!!!!!! There was a huge mess in the apartment which burglars left and then the police who was looking there for some finger prints. Solmar never offered us any other apartment, because they were fully booked. After we ensisted to have another place to sleep as the one we had was not a safe place anymore at all. They have not even replaced the lock to the door but put the broken one back! What they showed us as a "replacement place" was stinky, overheated and filthy bungallow made of chip board somewhere in the middle of their camping. Having three little kids we had to refuse. They promised us that they are going to send someone to clean the apartment but they never did that, they even didn't give us clean sheets to sleep!!!!!! It was the worst place we have ever been with kids!!!!!! As mentioned Apartaments Solmar it's connected to Camping Solmar (it's the same owner and place which is not showing correctly in Google Maps). We have a lot of paperwork to do with our insurance companies and we need one confirmation from Solmar-they do not respond to our emails.
We all love Blanes but Solmar is the WORST place to choose there!!!!! Solmar is UNSAFE, Solmar DO NOT CARE about guests. Don't go there if you care about your family and yourself!!!!!! Shame Solmar.......
