Càmping Solau — Hotel in Espot

We stayed here the last two weeks of July. In all honesty, we were a bit nervous not knowing what to expect, but I must say it was a pleasant surprise from the moment we arrived. Beautiful setup, plenty of natural shade, flat grassy pitches. You hear the river all the time in the background. Viorica, who owns the campsite, was very helpful and made us feel welcomed. The toilet block, shower block and dishwasher block were spotless. Washing machine and tumble dryer on site. There are deep ceramic basins for manual washing, if you don't want to pay for the tokens. Quiet time is between 11PM till 7AM. There's a small shop on site if you get stuck. Cold beer, juice and icecream available on site. Coffee and croissants for breakfast. Anything you want to know about paths and trails of the National Park and the surrounding areas, Viorica will be more than happy to help. If you want to get into hiking, scrambling and rock climbing, you have to speak with Senor Pere, who's house is on site, and he's like an Encyclopedia of the National Park. He gave us enough information and confidence to go climb Gran Encantat. We managed to include in our hikes Tuc de Ratera and Pic de Peguera. In Espot, which is a five minutes walk from campsite, you can shop and dine. There's also a Tourist Information Point in the village and the staff speaks very good english. Outside Espot there's a big lake and a watersports centre. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. Thanks for a wonderful...

Para nosotros un camping del montón... Estuvimos dos noches en este pequeño camping. Para empezar las parcelas no son muy grandes (sobre todo estrechas) y apenas cabe el coche más la tienda sin pisar al vecino, nosotros tuvimos suerte porque estaba muy vacío y no había problema. Por otro lado, los servicios de este camping son bastante limitados, tiene unos baños con duchas y para limpiar los platos. Los baños muy mal, la luz de la entrada no funcionaba y por la noche no veías nada, de 3 inodoros uno no funcionaba, y las 4 duchas en todas se atascaba el agua y terminabas inundado, además de que son muy incómodas ya que tienes que estar yendo al interruptor porque se te apaga automáticamente. Si que es verdad que no estaban sucios pero tampoco éramos demasiados usuarios en ese momento. También tiene una recepción/bar que se supone que abre mañana y tarde. Sin embargo un día al querer ir a comprar hielos por la tarde vimos que estaba cerrada y no abrieron en toda la tarde a pesar de que en el horario que tienen colgado en la puerta debería estar abierto. Los dos gatos que hay sueltos son un peligro para las tiendas de campaña, estuvieron a punto de arañar una tienda mientras jugaban entre ellos. Deberían tener más cuidado a la hora de soltarlos.

Finalmente decir que es el camping más caro en el que he estado durante este viaje, cobrando más que un camping de primera categoría. Probablemente no repetiría, intentaría buscar una alternativa, que en el pueblo, las hay.

Lo primero, no, no son 10€ la noche en vuestro camping ya bien entrado el mes de septiembre. Dicho esto, cada cual cobra lo que le parece, pero yo simplemente opino, que habiendo opciones por la zona de mejor calidad y a mejor precio, simplemente no lo recomendaría. Si vuestro camping a parte de las parcelas, solo ofrece como "servicios" unos baños y una zona para lavar platos, es normal mi queja puesto que estos servicios se encuentran en mal estado o por lo menos con falta de mantenimiento. No pretendo encontrarme lujos cuando voy de camping ni mucho menos, pero ya que elijo pagar, preferiría que hubiera...

Perfect in every way. The beds here are comfier than in the fancy hotels we stayed in. The bathroom is spotlessly clean and the shower water pressure is incredible. The staff are also so incredibly helpful! They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and accommodate everyone of our requests.

The location is spectacular, right at the start of the path up to the national park, and with the best background sound ever of the waterfall, it’s like sleeping in a real life sleep soundscape from an app.

I was honestly sad to leave this place, it was incredible and felt like home for three short days. I’m already planning my return next summer....
