When we arrived at the airport, I called the number indicated via WhatsApp (which said it was for calls only) to arrange the transfer and no one answered. After several failed attempts, I had to call the hotel number via normal call and pay for roaming, and then they answered. We waited about 20m for his arrival, then we went to another terminal to pick up another person and went to the hotel. Along the way, the driver traveled at high speed with the suitcases in the trunk hitting the sides violently at each curve, but nothing that worried the driver. When we arrived at the Hotel, despite having been the first to arrive and request the transfer, and having a baby with us, and having already pre-checked in, the driver who was also the receptionist, attended the other girl first. When it was our turn he asked to pay for the crib we had requested for the baby, which was correct, but when we got to the room there was no crib. The room was very small, nothing could fit on the sides of the bed. I went to ask for the crib and the receptionist said he would get it, so I could come back in 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I went back to the reception, the receptionist was having loving conversations on the phone (maybe that's why WhatsApp wasn't available for customers), when he saw me he asked what I wanted, he didn't even remember the crib and asked me to wait in my room while he took the crib. We waited for more than half an hour, it was late, with a baby, we had an early morning flight and we were waiting for the crib. I had to go to reception again to ask for the crib and only then did he go and get it. After a while the crib arrived dismantled and the crib clothes folded and I was the one who had to assemble the crib and make the bed. The crib had to be at the foot of the bed because there was no more space. A very bad experience. The hostel is not expensive and is close to the airport but the receptionist/driver we met was only concerned with his personal matters and completely disregarded his customers. We lost more than an hour of sleep waiting for the crib that had been requested several weeks before, and the receptionist didn't want to...
Read moreMy sister and I stayed here for 2 nights for 3 reasons: the low price per night, close proximity to the Madrid airport & free shuttle service to the airport & the good reviews posted about this hotel. I am, however, giving it a pretty poor rating because of the following. We had 2 lg suitcases each with additional carryon bags, & with no elevator to our floor/room, we had to lug them upstairs ourselves. I guess an elevator is not a problem if you only have a few or small luggage to carry on your own upstairs. The male and female staff during the day were not very friendly & pretty much did not want to be bothered with our questions. We got separate rooms as we both snore, yet the walls are paper thin, & we could hear each other snoring next door as well as people talking loudly in their rooms across the hall. Room & bath not bad but shower is way too small & 1 can barely turn around in it. Our shuttle to airport was to leave at 7:00 am yet the driver did not show up till after 7:00, did not assist any of us (4 in the van) with getting our luggage into or out of the van & dropped us off at the "arrival" section of the airport instead of the "departure" section causing us to have to walk a long way to get to the area to check into our flight & luggage drop off. Next time we make this trip we will find a different hotel close to the...
Read moreStaff was friendly and professional except for the shuttle I caught from the airport. I had to call them twice to get picked up at 4:00pm, waiting half an hour for that shuttle after they promised it would only take 5 minutes. However, staff apologized for the wait, and when I needed the shuttle again at 8am in the morning, it was right on time. Both shuttles were very easy to arrange.
Room didn’t seem old, and the bathroom was really a nice size for me. Cleanliness was okay. Not sparkling, but good enough for me, and definitely not dirty enough for something like bedbugs.
If you need it, the hostel isn’t accessible for people in wheelchairs or with limited mobility because you have to step up a curb to get into the hostel, and I didn’t see an elevator anywhere. Believe me I would’ve taken one for my 4-story climb to my room with my luggage.
Location was awesome for a one night stay because it’s a safe one minute walk from a pleasant little square with restaurants and cheap convenience stores.
Great for an affordable option, and they accept...
