Omg I knew this was a 1 star hotel and budget but didn't expect it to be this basic.||Checkin took a good while due to the commotion of big group in front of us.||The room reminded me of those on site university student rooms which had sinks in the rooms and shared showers... but in this room it had a shower but the shower was in the room next to the sink lol 😅||We also noticed that there was no toilet in the room... that is until we closed the room door and then noticed another 'door' behind it... yes it was a makeshift toilet room... the size of a big fridge.||The toilet door has big gaps above and below it... and also a biggish round hole size of a golf ball to use as a handle to open it. There is no lock and a bit of wind (breeze) could open the door I'm sure... the space is small but manageable by an average sized person...||If you need privacy at all... this room / hotel isn't it.||On the plus side there was a window, TV, soap, hangers, mini desk, stool and decent mattresses.||But...||TV prob had 1-2 English Channels..||Free WiFi but it was too slow only good for say checking your email.||Towels were small and some were stained..||Only one pillow per twin bed and they were like autorefilling balloons. No resistance or firmness at all your head completely sank into it.. never seen this kind of pillow. So had to order spare pillows.||Only had a socket next to one bed... for the other bed the socket was above the sink.||The room and hotel were clean.. its one thing I've noticed with Ibis... the ones I've been to have always been clean enough.||Service was good enough and they spoke English.||Breakfast buffet was very basic though still a buffet so unlimited tea, coffee, cereal, biscuits and boiled egg was enough for me.. remember its a one star..||The price was pretty expensive for a one star hotel but was the best option at short notice.||Metro station nearby that takes you to Atocha station, walkable in 5 minutes.||Lots of food places and other shops within walking distance.||The area i have read is but notorious but we found it to be ok, stick to the main streets.||Its not the best hotel but if you need a relatively cheap hotel in that area for a night or two its...
Read moremy cousin checked out of your establishment at 2am feeling unwell and left a metro card (with at least 9) rides for me to pick up at a normal time. obviously a normal time is not 2am, and i especially won’t walk all the way to your establishment at such an unsafe time to pick up a metro card. today at 2pm i passed by to pick up the card which was left for ME—the receptionist was informed of this. i was informed by the receptionist at the time that your receptionist MIGUEL TOOK MY METRO CARD WHICH I PAID FOR AND HAS BEEN USING IT. he claims that the pick up of the metro card wasn’t specified, WHICH IT WAS. i asked for compensation for that card and none of your staff wanted to do anything. this is theft. it wasn’t a card that was just left there for your use, it came with the instruction to give it to me. honestly the fact that it’s a metro card with rides in it isn’t the biggest problem. for me, it’s the fact that your staff lied to me and told me that he didn’t receive any instructions WHEN HE DID, then he preceded to TAKE THE CARD AND USE IT, KNOWING FULL WELL THAT IT ISN’T HIS AND SOMEONE ELSE PAID FOR THE RIDES ON THE CARD. this dishonesty is appalling. what also disgusts me is the fact that the 2 male receptionists (14:00, jan 4) had the audacity to ask me why someone would check out at 2am and leave a card for someone else to pick up, and why i, a female, wouldn’t come and pick it up at 2am…??? uhm????? what a crazy thing to ask and suggest.
i stayed at your establishment when i first came to madrid and i even recommended that my cousin stay here too while he was visiting. i honestly shouldn’t have because the room was so small. the bathroom & sink situation was also just a bother. MY MISTAKE!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 i am never...
Read moreSatisfying last-minute find. Good for 1-3 nights. The 4⭐️ rate is because it fulfilled our needs, which were basic, and because the service and location were indeed what we wanted.
❤️ Reception staff super friendly, willing to help and offer advice. Really nice people! ❤️ Very quiet room, despite the fact that it is located right next to a very busy road. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable. ❤️ The location was far from city center, but it worked for us because we could easily find a parking spot. Atocha train station is quite close. Many different city buses running. Nearest metro station is a 4-5min walk from the hotel and it’s Puente de Vallecas (Line 1), connecting you directly with Madrid city center: Atocha, Sol, Gran Vía stations. ❤️ Generally safe neighborhood around the hotel with small restaurants, cafés, bakeries, pharmacies, ATMs, and even a 24/7 Carrefour supermarket.
❌ The hotel parking was narrow for a long vehicle like ours. Luckily, we arrived late in the evening, so there were empty parking spots on the street outside the hotel. ❌ Bathroom didn’t offer privacy. The door was too thin without even a doorknob and it resembled a public bathroom door. ❌ Hairdryer available, but only upon request. Equipment was cheap, but it was expected. ❌ The room was tight, however it could fit two cabin bags and...
