Hotel Villa de Ferias — Hotel in Medina del Campo

This hotel was a great find. It had free parking , an attached bar, cafeteria that also provided food from fancier restaurant in hotels. The room was very clean and cleaned every day. It was spacious especially by European standards. I had a TV, mini fridge, and free WiFi. The cost for 5 nights including breakfast was 300€. A great deal! Breakfast was typical- choice of croissant, toast, or pastry, coffee and a big plus, freshly squeezed oj. It was cheap to add a slice of tortilla if I wanted more. Their tortilla is one of the best I ever had! Plus it was available any time of day. They would toast my croissant which really made it delicious. I have no negatives about hotel. All the staff was friendly and front desk people spoke adequate English. I speak some Spanish which was really helpful as this is a smaller town and few people spoke...

Medina del Campo is not a major tourist town, even though it does have an amazing castle. The choice of hotels was therefore limited. We were not quite sure what we would get when we booked this hotel. It doesn't look brilliant from the outside - modern building, not much character. However, inside it is full of character. The rooms are beautifully furnished and large. There is a (distant) view of the castle. Plenty of parking and staff were friendly and welcoming. We found the whole dining arrangements a but confusing. There is a bar/cafe in the hotel and it is extremely popular with locals. Rooms a bit tired, but adequate. The bed was comfortable, and the shower very efficient. I didn't try the television. We arrived very late, two hours later than expected, but there was a three course meal waiting for us, with wine.
